May 26 THE BEGINNING, Chapter 10THE BEGINNING This Story is Fictional as the Names CHAPTER 10
On the day of the Party we decorated the Dinning Room and put the final touches on the Food and once Donald's Guests arrived and the Party was in full wing, it made the wait worth it, because with all of the laughter bounching off the walls helped everyone forget about the Chicken Poxs and the pain that came with it. Miriam and Jill came to the Party to have fun and be with Bonnie, because they were having their own Party. The Children's Family, Miriam, and Anna enjoyed it also because they had been so tired with all they had been through during the weeks of the Chicken Poxs. After all the Presents had been open and all the Cake was gone the Children left the Dinning Room and went out to play some Basketball until it was time for them to leave. The games didn't last long because it was starting to cool off, although it was still warmer out than is normal for this time of the year. This Party put everyone in the mood for the Christmas Holidays! We ordered our Christmas Stone Ware Plates and by the time we are done painting and having them refired, we will have made 500 Plates, 1000 Handles for Silver Ware, 50 Serving Platters, 500 Bowls and 50 Serving Bowls. This is the first year we were doing this and if our Guests like them, we will have them for sale next year. Two days after the Family arrived, we had a meeting to let everyone how the house and RV Park was doing and the plans that we had made to expand. Also we were planing to have different Style of Food add to the menu each night along with Southern Style Foods. We were planing to add an additional Dinning Room off the Kitchen, plus Cabin Rooms with their own Bathrooms, Patios, Hot Plates, and Coffee Makers in the field above the Fruit Trees. Alice and Ben were to talk about the Scooters that they will be buying for our Guests to rent and to sell, as well. Betty and Frank were also to talk the best ideas for us to go green and the cost of the preposted ideas and how long it would take, start to finish, to get them into place. After everyone had Cake and Coffee, we left the Dinning Room to get ready for the Dinner Crowd and the Private Surprise Birthday Party of 20 invited Guests for one of the Guests that was staying at the house. Mary Virginia was turning 27 years old and her Brother Chase Benteen, had arranged the Party when he had booked their room back in august. The Staff was working hard, while we were having our meeting, to get the Study ready for the Birthday Party and fixing the Dinner for the Dinner Crowd. Tonight we were having a Southern Style Dinner of Roast Beef, Roasted Chicken, Baked Pork Roast, Baby Carrots, Potatoes, Early Peas, Baby Onions, Gravy, Creamed Potatoes, Potato Salad, Creamed Corn, Corn on the Cob, Yeast Rolls, and the Desserts. Normally we only have 5 Roast Beefs, 5 Roasted Chickens, and 5 Baked Pork Roasts, but tonight with the reservations we had to make 7 Roast Beefs, 7 Roasted Chickens, 7 Baked Pork Roasts plus extra pans of Rolls and Desserts so our Ovens were working overtime. The Christmas Trees were being delivered the next day, which would be three days before Christmas. Bob and his crew set up the Christmas Trees and the Wreaths in the Loby on the Porches and in the Tent and decorated them all and added the Lights all around the house and RV Park. This was to be Bob's last year working for us, because his health was getting bad and the Doctors wanted him to take it easy, but he would still be around to give advise when it was need. We had already decided that we were going to need a lot of advise, but not so much that Bob would feel as if he needed to go out and supervise the project, but to look in on it every once in a while. For Christmas our Neighbors had booked all of our tables inside and outside in the Tent, were we will have set up Fireplaces on each end to help keep it warm from 11:00 AM - 10:00PM that night. This was the Twins first Christmas and I wanted them to have a Great First Christmas, so after we put up the Christmas Tree and decorating it, we all had Egg Nog and sang Christmas Songs. It was time for everyone to go to bed, after they were asleep I put out one Present at the foot of their beds for them to find the next morning. It was decided at the meeting that this year we would have the Family Christmas Party at my House and the Family would come in turns and the Children would open a Present with each turn. Anna had volunteered to take the Pictures to add to our Christmas album. For Christmas we were trying something new also, Deep Fried Turkey and Chicken along with the Roasted Turkey, Chicken, Cornish Hens, and Baked Ham. We started baking at 5:00 in the morning on Christmas, but we starting Roasting the Turkeys, Chickens, Cornish Hen, and Ducks at 8:00. Christmas Morning Dad and Uncle Fred set up 5 Deep Fryer for the Turkeys outside were all of the Uncles were going to take turns watching them. They started the Turkeys in the Deep Fryers at 8:00 also, they were ready to serve by 11:00 when the first Guests starting coming in. This was our biggest day ever, we cooked 75 Roasted Turkeys, 15 Deep Fryed Turkeys, 25 Roasted Chickens, 20 Cornish Hens, and 15 Ducks. I wasn't able to take my turn to eat so I was letting someone else clean up and close the Basement Kitchen so I could go and eat. Before I left the house I called Anna to find out what was left, she told me that there wasn't much left so I went into the Main Kitchen to get what they had left. There was a whole Roasted Turkey, some Chicken Breast, Potato Salad, Sweet Potato Casserole, Warm Yeast Rolls, 1 Fresh Carrot Cake, 1 Pumpkin Cake, and 1 Applesauce Cake and all with Cream Cheese Frosting, 1 Pumpkin Pie, 1 Pecan Pie, Southern Style, and 1 Apple Pie left so I some of the Turkey and Chicken Breast, half of the Potato Salad, Sweet Potato Casserole, Yeast Rolls, Cakes, and Pies. I know that sound like a lot but it isn't, because I am hungry and the Family will still be there waiting on me to bring them something to eat or will arrive shortly after I do. By the time I got home everyone except Anna was in bed sound asleep, so I sat down, took a deep breath and relaxed for a few minutes. I fixed me a plate of everything except the Dessert and a tall Glass of Ice Tea and ate, by the time I finished the first plate the Family arrived with the rest of the Food I had left in the house Kitchen. While they filled their plates we talked and I filled my plate with Desserts, we talked and ate. Mom and Dad were the first to go because they were on duty first thing to fix Breakfast, the rest left about 2:00 AM to go home so I could get some sleep because the Children would be up shortly and I was on duty for the Lunch Crowd. I got about 4 and half hours sleep before the Children woke me to show what Santa had gotten them and what the Family had given them. Bonnie and Donald were a little upset with me because I had not come home to be with them on Christmas, so I explained to them about thing that had to be done and sometimes there would be times I couldn't be there, but I would always be there when it counted. By the time I left to go and do the Lunch they had forgiven me and were happy again, but I felt guilty. Because we had messed up so badly yesterday, I wasn't able to leave when it was my time to leave and take my break. When the Lunch Crowd were gone, I called a meeting of all Staff and Linda to talk about what had happened, and find out why we had been overbooked. Linda told us that one of the Aunts had filled in at the Front Desk for about 2 hours while Linda ran some errands. That would normally be fine, but this time Aunt Bea had been so overwhelmed by the number of phone calls that she had forgot to put down all of the reservations. It was decided that the next time a Holiday came, we would have two people on the phone taking down reservations so we won't have this kind of mix up again. Aunt Bea felt bad about what had happen, but I told her that it really wasn't a problem, because it had taught us a lesson that we needed to learn. I asked her to help Linda with the phone on December 30 and 31 for the New Years reservations and told them that if they have to leave the Desk for more than 15 minutes they were to call someone to come and take over for them and if the phone calls were overwhelming then call and get someone before they leave. They were both very happy with that arrangment! On December 30th found both Aunt Bea and Linda hard at work on the phone taking reservations. The most we could take was 150 people at one time in the house and 50 people in the Tent, so they could have room to dance. We were opening all of the rooms on the Main Floor with Televisions and Stereo Speakers in every room and the in Tent, so everyone could listen to the Music and watch the Ball Drop in New York's Time Square. We were booked up by 10:00 PM on December 30, but we were still getting calls for reservations. The next morning after Breakfast, and while the Staff worked hard fixing for the Lunch Crowd, we started fixing the Food for the Dance that evening and getting the Main Floor ready. Also we were sitting up Tables at the Front Doors so people had to give their names and pay before they could get in. For safty, we could only have 200 people in the house and Tent. Most people would not show up without making reservations first, but on occasion a few will. This year it was Dad and Uncle Fred's turn to man the Front Doors. We had all of the Staff working that day and night, with 30 minute breaks every 4 hours and 1 hour for dinner. Tonight was no different, Dad and Fred had to ask a few to leave when they didn't have reservations, and there were two couples who came in that had reservations who were drunk. Dad would not take their money until they had sobered up, but when they refused so Dad had to ask them to leave. The Guests were enjoying the Food and Music when we heard the exchange of words before the couples lefted. I had the Staff turn the Music up a bit so it would not desturb our sitted Guests, while I went out to check on Dad and Uncle Fred. The other couple was trying to get the loud couple to leave and were having a very hard time, but they managed to get them out the door so Dad could close the door. Dad and Fred stayed at the doors to make sure the couples got back in their car and left. Miriam and Linda were the MC's that night, so after Supper was over and the Staff cleared off all the Tables and removed the Tables, they finished setting up so they could get the Party started. Our Guests were having good clean fun, dancing, singing, and talking, so I went out to check on our other Guests when I saw the young man that Dad and Uncle Fred had made leave, coming back in the Front Door. I went around the Main Desk and looked up and there stood the young man with a gun pointed straight at me, I dropped and mashed the Police Bottom. I heard a loud bang coming from the doors closing and locking and the bars on the Window closing and locking. With the house on lockdown no one could leave or come in which kept the Guests safe. Dad and Uncle Fred headed for the hidden office to see what was going on, what they saw made their blood run cold. They saw the young man standing at the Front Desk with a gun in his hand and the look of shock on his face and me laying on the floor behind the Desk with blood running down my face. They jumped when the phone rang. It was the Police calling to see what was going on and when Dad told them what they saw, he was told that help was on the way and to keep everyone out of the Lobby, that an Ambulance was on it's way also. Dad called my house and told Anna to keep the Children away for the Windows so they wouldn't see the Police coming in. Anna asked him what was the problem and she was told that they had so trouble with one of the Guests and he would let her know something as soon as he could. Jill called her Mom and told her that Bonnie's head was hurting and that it was because her Mom was hurt in the head, she wanted to know what to do. Miriam told her to tell Anna not to give Bonnie anything for the pain. Anna knew about the connection between Bonnie and me, so she wasn't surprised when Jill told her about Bonnie's head hurting. This worried Anna so bad that she would slip out of the room every chance she got to look down at the Main House, which didn't tell her anything until she saw the Ambulance come in, that was when she knew that someone had been hurt and she had a bad feeling that Bonnie was right and it had be me that had gotten hurt. All Dad and Uncle Fred could do was stand there and watch the young man stand there crying and all of their Guests dancing and having fun. That was the longest 10 minutes that Dad and Uncle Fred had ever gone through. When the Police broke in the Front Door and took the man into custody and the Ambulance People came in and checked me out and loaded me in the Ambulance and left, Dad called Danny on his Cell Phone and asked him how to open the doors. Danny talked him through it, while Uncle Fred went out to get Mom and Aunt Ontonette so they could go to the hospital to be with me. Danny, the Staff, Linda, and Miriam had been the only ones that knew that something was wrong and they had done just as we had practised. Once Dad had the Doors and Bars unlocked, some of the Staff went outside to open the Bars and hook them back. The Party went on until 3:00 in the morning and the Staff told Dad to leave, they would clean up and get thing ready for Breakfast, and all they wanted was him to call and let them know what was happening and how I was! When he got to the hospital, I was just coming out of surgery!! So when the Doctor came out and he told them some good news, the bullet had hit and cracked my skull and came back out the entry hole. He told Mom, Dad, and Aunt Ontonette that they could see me, but they had put me into a Coma because of the swelling of the Brain. Mom or Dad was alway there so one day about a week after the shoting, I sat up in bed and told Jennifer to get out of my house. Mom left me long enough to call Dad and tell him to go up to my house because Jennifer was up there causing trouble. Dad went up there and got Jennifer out and made her leave then he went into my office and call my lawyer to see if I had made provision in case something like this happen. I had left Dad and Mom incharge of the Children, Money, and both Houses until I was able to take over again or I was able to come home again. Anna was to stay with the Children and do what was doing now! My Lawyer to him he would call him back just as soon as he could get it on the docket at the Courthouse. It took him two days to get it up before the Judge, by that time Jennifer had also filed a motion to take positions of the Houses, Children, and Money. The Judge listened to both sides and then sided with my Dad, because I had made a living will which told him my wishes. Jennifer was not happy and vowed that she would get all of it. Back at the hospital, I sat up just as the Doctor walked in and I told Mom what the Judge had said and what Jennifer had done and said after they had left the Court Room and then I layed back down. When Mom turned to the Doctor and got a look at his face, he was shocked and stuned. Mom just told him that it was OK and that this had happen before, the Doctor shook off the shocked and stuned expression, then he told Mom that this should not be happening and that he was going to order more test to make sure I was still in a Deep Coma. After the Doctor left I sat up again and told Mom to go home and pack the Children's Clothes and thing that they would need for three months and go to JJ's and stay in the house there. I also told her not to use the Phone for anything and she was to turn the Cell Phone off once she, Anna, and the Children left the House, until Dad came and got them. Also I told her to stop and pick up all of the Baby Supplies that she would need to last the three months that they would be gone so JJ wouldn't have to get anything. JJ is a Cousin who lives off the land, but has a very nice big house which he guards like his life is in danger, so I know that they will be safe there. She was to get Aunt Ontonette and Linda to come and stay with me and get Uncle Fred to help Dad with both Houses and all of the Business. When Dad and the Lawyer got to the hospital, I was undergoing the Test that the Doctor wanted done, Dad and the Lawyer told Mom what had happen and Mom told them what I had told her to do. The Lawyer was shocked that Mom had know so much about what had happen in Court, until they told him that I had always be able to do thing like this sence I was a small Child. So by the time the Nurses brough me back in, the Lawyer felt that he could handle anything that came his way. When the Nurses left I again sat up and spoke directly to him and told him what he was to do about Jennifer and the care of my Children and Money. He, Dad, and Uncle Fred, if he was willing, were to be in charge with the Lawyer being silent and unknown, and no talking on the Phone. They were to meet as Friends, which they all were, in private. When Aunt Ontonette arrived, she was filled in on what had happen, the Lawyer left to set in motion the requests I had made of him. Mom and Dad waited for the Doctor to come in to tell them what he had found out from the Tests and he comformed that I was still in a Deep Coma, he was told not to tell anyone what he had heard from me. He also told them that he was going to start bring me out of the Coma the next week and he promised never tell what he had heard that day. After he left, Mom and Dad Kissed me goodbye and promised to do as I had asked, Dad left to go back to the House and Mom had switched cars with Aunt Ontonette so that no one knew that she had left and then she went to the Store to get the thing that would be need. By the time Mom got to my House it was dark and there was a strange Van setting beside of the house. JJ met her at the door, wanting to know what was going on, because he had gotten a very strange message from me telling him to get a Van and come here!
Now JJ was a very odd person who enjoyed Children
because they were more truthful than Adults and the
silence of his 50 acker Farm and he didn't like company,
but he would do what ever it took to keep my Children,
Family, and Friends safe. When Mom had explained what had been going on he understood and started getting together the thing that were in house that would be needed. While they were waiting to leave Aunt Ontonette call and told them to stop and get Miriam and Jill. They would wait until about 2:00 in the morning to load the Van to leave. Mom would drive Aunt Ontonette's Car and park it, were she always parked it, and then get into the Van to leave. They went to Miriam's Home were her and Jill were waiting for them, because their lives were also in danger, because should something happen to Me then it all went to Mom and Dad, then to Miriam and Jill. Dad made sure no one saw them leave from the Main House! When JJ came in he had made sure no one could see his face, but to be on the safe side, he turned a two hour trip into 6 hour trip. By now I gress you thing I and the Family are a bunch of crazy people, we aren't, you see Jennifer had hired the Gunman to kill me, Mom, and Dad. You see that young man owed Jennifer a lot of money, which he couldn't repay, so Jennifer was making him do this as payment of his debt. That same night someone broke into my Lawyer's Office and stole "only" a copy of my Will. The next morning the Police showed up at the Main House to talk to Dad. They had been up at the House looking for Mom and Anna, because they were going to take them somewere safe. The Police wanted to know were Mom, Anna, and the Children were, Dad told them that they all had gone to a very safe place that no one not even the Family knew about. While they were talking to Dad, they got a phone call saying that Miriam and Jill had disappeared and they had talked to Brenda at the Day Care who told them that Miriam had called her late last night and told her that she would be gone for a while and that Brenda was in charge until she returned. They told Dad that they had put a guard outside of my room and that Aunt Ontonette would not be able to leave and Linda or Dad would not be able to go in. The hospital Staff was putting another bed in the room for her. Uncle Fred was to pack Aunt Ontonette some clothes for them to take to her. They were going to take them to the hospital and then go back and talk to the gunman to see if he would talk to them and maybe tell them what was going on. What no one knew was that the gunman had been attacked while he had been in the shower and befored he died he told the Officer why he had shot me and that Jennifer was behind it all, the shoting and his stabing. Later that day the Detective came back to talk with Dad some more about the people who had been with the gunman and Dad gave them a copy of the film that clearly showed both couples faces and the film of the car and tag that they left in. The Detective called in the tag number and it came back with the address of a Jane Mosely, he left promising to keep Dad informed about what was happening. They were hoping to get to her before she too met with a accident, they got lucky. By the time they got to Jane Mosely home, they could tell that Jane was afraid, the Detective started asking her lots of questions and she broke down and told them everything when they promised to protect her. They took her out with them, they were going to take Jane to a safe place, when they encountered Jennifer. Jane broke away from the Police Officers and ran, she didn't get very far when the shots rang out and Jane was shot, but not dead, she just played dead. It had not been Jennifer who had shot Jane, but someone elso, so the Officers couldn't arrest Jennifer. It would take the Detective two more months to get the evidence they need to convict Jennifer of 2 counts of attemped murder and 1 count of murder. When Dad was told that it was OK to bring everyone home, so Dad went to JJ's and got the Children, Mom, Anna, and Miriam. By the time he arrived at JJ's it was late and the Children were asleep. He told them about all that had gone on while they had been here, Dad told them to watch out for strangers, just to be on the safe side, and that I was coming home the next day. I was going to need therapy, because my left side wasn't working like it should, but with help I should be back to normal. The good thing about all of this was that JJ and Miriam had gotten very close. They would be visiting each other often, but most important Jill loved him. It would be wonderful they became a Family, they each deserved happiness. By the time Dad got everyone home it was morning and the Children were waking up wanting their Breakfast, so Dad stoped at the house so they could eat and then took them home and helped them get set up again. Anna had been the smart one, because she had sleep the whole way home so she was ready to take over and let Mom get some rest. Aunt Ontonette was bring me home at 12 noon. Linda had been up at the house and had gotten my room ready for me, so they wouldn't have to do anything. Linda was to come back when I got home to help out because she knew that everyone would be tired and the Children would be so excited to be home again that they might be hyper. That was an understatement!!! Bonnie and Donald were so glad to be back in their own room that they were all over them and touching all of their toys, pictures, and books. Grace and Bradley couldn't understand the excitement, because they had taken all of their things and beds with them. It got worse when I came in, because I looked and sounded different, the Twins started crying and hiding behind Anna. Bonnie and Donald came running to me and was so happy to see me that they starting crying and talking at the same time, asking lots of questions about why I looked different, about the BooBoo on my head, and why I walked funny. I just took them in my arms and gave them a big hug, then explained that I had an accident and hit my head hard, but I would be alright. By the time I was through telling them about that, Grace came over and was standing in front of me looking at me and listening, she just turned and looked at Bradley and nodded at him and said Mommy. Bradly came over and looked and listened then they both got up in my lap and hugged me, talking a mile a minute, they were so happy to see me and had lots to tell me about. I just sat there listening and looking at them, I had missed them so much!! When Linda came in she had Lunch for everyone so Anna wouldn't have to cook, Mom was still asleep. I was getting tired so while Anna got the Lunch ready, Linda helped me into my bed so I could rest, so when Anna brought me a plate of Food I was just to tired to eat. Linda and I would talk later when I felt better. Bonnie and Donald told Linda about JJ's Farm and his funny Prized Winning Black Orchid that looks like it has a almost black Clam on it with greenish yellow spider like pedals. Donald told her that they grow on logs that were in a building. JJ had always been able to grow any kind of plant that he wanted, sometime it took a while for him to figure out way to make something grow, but when he did the flowers were always beautiful. Bonnie and Donald drawed picture of the Orchid and gave them to Linda so she would know what they looked like. After my nap, I made it to the door of the living room when Linda came and helped me to the couch. Anna handed me my plate and told me the Children were taking a nap. While I ate, Anna told me that Bonnie and Donald asked a lot of questions about why I had not come with them, and why they had to be at JJ's. They had told them that I was in the hospital because I had hurt my head, arm, leg, and the reason they were at JJ's was because they were on vacation. His place was beautiful with all the different flowers, trees, and bushes, also he had some beautiful Llamas.
I asked them if he had got the house fixed yet, because
the last time I was there it was falling down.
They told me that the house was beautiful work of art and
it had been built out of cedar inside and out.
February 8th they had a birthday party for Grace and
Bradley.
JJ had gone out to a different State and bought the
Twins presents that Mom and Anna had told him to
get and he found some toys for Children 1 year old.
around the yard and on the trails through the woods, when they went walking. Bonnie's birthday was in April so JJ had made another trip to get some things that the Twins and to get Bonnie some birthday presents also. He found some stuffed Llamas so he got them for her. While he was gone, Mom baked Bonnie a Cake and fixed her favorite foods, which made her happy. She missed me though which made her a little sad but Mom and Anna had a long talk with her to let her know that I loved her and she would be seeing me soon. Bonnie wanted a Crita, baby Llama, but Anna told her that there wasn't any place for the baby and besides it would be lonely by his self.
Miriam came on later that evening to see how I was doing
and to ask me questions about JJ.
She asked me were JJ worked and how he had gotten his
money?
Miriam told me that some men had came to see JJ while
they were there, she thought that they wanted him to
come back to work, but he refused.
The men were not happy when they left, but JJ was!!
I didn't know for sure but I told her that I thought he
had worked for the some Company that had him doing a
lot of traveling over seas.
That had been when he picked up the first Orchid and
growing tips and he had gotten the Llamas later.
JJ wasn't happy working for that Company but they had
paid him very well, when he had saved enough money he
had quite so he could raise the Orchids and Llamas. The next day Sally came in to help me get back in shape, she brought in a bicycle for me to ride, and 2 pound bumb bells. She helped me with range of motion and show me how to do it by myself, because she would only be there 3 days a week. After she left I was so tired that I took a nap. When I woke up I went outside and walked around in the yard to work out the kinks, I felt a lot better. By the time the Children came out to play, I was able to play with them. From then on the Children would help me do the exercises that Sally was teaching me to do.
That became my favorite time of the day, the Children
and exercising and playing.
They would make me laugh trying to do the exercises and
when I would be so stiff that I couldn't do them they
would laugh at me when I would make the funny noises,
and believe me I made thoses funny noises a lot.
At first Bonnie had a very hard time with the exercises and
would get so mad because she couldn't get her arms and
legs working at the same time to do the exercises.
When she realised that I was have the same trouble she
just worked harder until she was able to do them.
I was so proud of her, she didn't give up like I wanted to
but knew I couldn't.
By the time I was able to do the exercises, Bonnie was
doing almost as well as Sally.
On the days that Jill was there Sally and Bonnie would help
her to do the exercises, which helped Jill to walk better.
Between the Horse riding and the Walking exercises, Jill
walking had improved greatly. Sally and I had become Friends, so she would show us exercises that the Children could do and she would make it fun for all of us. Even after I was better, the Children and I continued with the exercises that Sally had showed me the last day she came. Sometimes Sally would come by, on mornings that she didn't have people to see, and we all, would exercise together. Even Anna would workout with us, she said it made her feel better. This has really brough my Family closer than before, and we were very close. It also made them feel like they were helping me get better and it is a good start to some healthy habits. It is a good think that I was better, because School will be starting soon and you know what we need to do, go School Clothes Shopping. On the way to the Store, we droped Grace and Bradley off at the Day Care with Miriam. Donald was the easy one, but I fear that when he starts School he will be picky, I hope not as picky as Bonnie!! Bonnie had been working on her Clothes selection while Donald and I had been getting his, which had taken an hour, and so far she only had 1 outfit out of 6. Anna left to get us some chairs so we can sat in the middle of the girl section and let her work! Some of the New Store Employees came by to tell us that we had to move, which we did, but it wasn't long until they had the Store Manager come and talk to us. When he walk up with the Employee I said hi Ed, how is it going? We talked for a time while we watched Bonnie work the clothes racks. Ed was also watching Bonnie and when she went to the dressing room for the 5th time, he turned to me and said that he understood why we were sitting, because just watching Bonnie had made him tired. He just reminded us to move around so we don't block the racks. Several of our Friends came by and we would talk to them while watching Bonnie. You would think that Bonnie was putting on a play the way Friends and Strangers would stop and watch. We were having fun until Anna and I noticed a Stranger watching Bonnie to closely and that made us both nervous so Anna went to Bonnie and started following her around until that Stranger left. By the time Bonnie had all the outfits that she needed to start School and all of the School Supplies it was 5:00 in the evening. Donald had left with Mom when she came by to check on us.
Bonnie had her fashion show, but this year, unknown to
Donald, she had add him too.
When Donald found out he wasn't very happy, but Bonnie
had a long talk with him and had gotten him to do it.
Needless to say, Donald was sooooo happy when it was all
over and he could put his play clothes back on and go play.
School would start in about 2 weeks.
Bonnie and Jill wanted to know how they could exercise in
the mornings then, I just told them that if they wanted to
exercise then they would have to get up early and then
get ready for School.
Since we only did it 3 days a week then Jill could stay with
us the nights before and ride the bus from here if that was
alright with Miriam.
Miriam and I didn't thing the exercising bug would last
long but you never know when you have Children like
Bonnie and Jill.
Miriam had to take Jill in to see her Doctor the week
before School started and the Doctor had commented
about Jill's improvements in her legs and arms.
Miriam told him about the exercises that she had been
doing along with the Horse riding.
He wanted some XRays of her Legs and Arms just so he
could compair them to earlier one to make sure that
everything was alright.
Two days after the XRays were done the Doctor called and
said that everything was great and that there was far more
improvement than he first thought.
He just said that to do no more than the 3 days of exercise
for 1 hour each day along with the Horse riding was enough
for her.
Jill had gone from a wheelchair to walker then a cane and
since we started the exercises she had stopped using that.
She was hoping to be able to run like other Children soon.
Miriam and I knew that one day she may wake up and not
be able to walk again, We Hoped Not!!
We Mothers have a lot to worry about, Children are our
biggest worry of all!!!
Three days before School started Miriam and I had a meeting
with Jill and Bonnie's Teacher to talk to her about the girls.
When it was our turn, we went in and interduced ourselfs to
the Teacher and told her we would be taping the meeting so
we could remember what was said and decided.
Mrs. Tompson said that would be find.
She talked to Miriam first and told Miriam that Jill would be
working on Math, Reading, Writing, and Spelling.
I told Mrs. Tompson the Bonnie will enjoy these kind of
classes and would be a big help to her, but Mrs. Tompson
said that she was going to have Bonnie moved to another
class, if she could to another country, because she had no
intendion of having Bonnie in her class to disrup the class
with her wineing.
We were so shocked that we didn't say anything for a
minute and then we just got up and went to the Principal
Mr. Hill and played him the tape.
When he heard the tape, he told us he would move both
girls to another class and he would let us know who the
Teacher was and set up an appointment for us.
That evening Mr. Hill called and told me that Mrs. Kathy
would be Bonnie and Jill's Teacher and we were to met
her on Monday after School at 3:30.
When School started Anna had the Twins all the time,
Donald 2 days, and me part of the time, because I was
going back to the house to help Dad get the plans ready
for the Cabins that we were adding.
The Cabin project was to start in the spring but with the
shoting and me not able to help, Mom, the Children, and
Anna gone, Dad decided to wait until later to start working
on the plans.
Since I was doing a lot better, I decided that when School
started it would be a good time to get started on the plans.
On Monday, I went to the Day Care get Miriam for our
meeting with Mrs. Kathy.
When we arrived we had the meeting in Mr. Hill office.
We told her and him that we were taping the meeting so
that we wouldn't forget anything that was said and it would
help us if we remembered something then we could check
the tapes to make sure we hadn't asked that question before. May 16 THE BEGINNING, Chapter 9
THE BEGINNING This Story is Fictional as the Names CHAPTER 9
They were not blue!! I thought that was a good sign and the fact that they had good color and both Babies came in 6 + Pounds apeace. The Baby Doctors got blood from both and were going to check them for everything. They told me later that some of the test had come back normal but the other ones would take about 6 weeks for them to come back and that they would let me know what they had show. The next day when the Doctor came in to check on me, he told me that the reason I had feel so dizzy was because I had losted a baby in December but it hadn't hurt the other two. For some reason the third baby had stayed at the embryo stage, but had fought to live. I asked what time had it been born, was it a Twin to Grace, and the Doctor said 11:00, and no it was separate from the Twins. While we were talking I could hear babies screaming and wondered whos baby it was. The Doctor was leaving when the Nurses came in with the Twins, I knew then whos Babies had been screaming. A Nurse stayed with me until Mom came in and stayed to help me with them. We each took a Baby and start feeding them, and that is when they earned the nickname of piglets. We each looked and touched, we couldn't get enough. When the Nurses came in to get the Babies, Mom followed them back to the Nursery. Mom stayed with me for the rest of that day and came back every day until they let us go home. The day we left the hospital, the Doctor told Mom and Dad that I needed help until I got back on my feet again. That is when Dad told him that he had hired someone to stay with me and would be there to help me do what I needed to do to get back on my feet, also to help with the Babies. When it came time for us to leave Dad had to make two trips down to the Van with my stuff. The Nurses had just gotten the Babys were ready to go when he came back the last time, it took three Nurses to take us down to the Van. The two Nurses holding Grace and Bradley helped Dad put them into there Carseat and made sure it was done right. Because I had been in bed so long it didn't take much for me to get so tired that by the time I got in the Van, and Grace and Bradley in there seats, I fell asleep and didn't wake up until Dad woke me to go into the house. That is when I saw the Log Cabin, Dad just said welcome home! He took me in and sat me down on the couch, then he and Anna went out and got Grace and Bradley. When they brought them in, they were screaming again and wanted to be changed and fed which we did and as fast as we could too. After we got them down for a nap, Dad walked with me through the house tring to show me everything but about half way through I told him I need to to back and sat down. Dad took me back to the couch and helped me to get comfortable so I could get some rest. When I woke, Mom, Bonnie, Donald, and some of the Family were there waiting for me to wake up. They had all been in to see Grace and Bradley and now they were ready to talk to me. I saw everyone everyday at the hospital and we talked then, but we always had a lot to talk about and now was no different. We talked about the Babies and what had been going on around here. I asked Mom how they had been able to build the house without me knowing about it, she beamed and told me that it had been easy, because I was down at the RV Park all day watching them put the Trees in. Anna came in then with the Twins and I took Bradley to feed him, the Family left so that we could have some private time. After both Babies were fed, changed, and back in bed, I took another look around our new home. By the time I made it back to the couch I was so tired that I fell asleep trying to put the covers over me. I woke up two hours later to the sound of screaming Babies, so by the time Anna brough me Grace I was ready for her. While we fed the Twins, Anna and I talked so we could get to know each other better. We found that everything that I liked to do she didn't and everything she liked to do I didn't, that is when we became friends. We talked about were she had worked before come here and why she had left and I asked how long could she stay here, she told me that my Dad had hired her for three months. I had a feeling that Anna would be here a lot longer than that. Bonnie and Donald came in and waited patiently for us to quite talking so he could read to us. When he was through reading it was time for them to get ready for bed, I know I was. We put the Twins to bed and helped Bonnie and Donald get dressed and into bed and kissing them good night I went back to the couch, Anna went back to the Twins's room and got ready for bed in there and I went to sleep on the couch. Milky came in and layed down on the floor beside of the couch and stayed there all night long. The next day I worked as hard as I could to got back my strength. It would be a long time before I would be able to take care of all of my Babies. Bonnie and Donald helped when they were home from School and Day Care by keeping their rooms clean. Every night I would sat in the rocking chair holding Grace and Bradley, Bonnie and Donald would sat on the floor, Anna would be getting the bottles ready for the next feeding while Donald would read to us from one of his books. When it was time to lay the Babies down in their bed, Anna would come and take Grace and put her to bed and I would put Bradley to bed. I wasn't able to get up with both Babies yet, but I was working on it. Bonnie had been watching Anna mash the botton so she could lower the side rails on the Baby Bed it didn't take her long to get it to work for her. So a few nights later, it was Bonnie who lowered the bed rails so Anna and I could put the Twins to Bed. I started having trouble with my right foot about two weeks after I came home. At first it would hurt so bad and it felt like someone had put and electric wire to it. It would start in my foot, the current was minor, but then the right leg started locking up or let go, so I would fall. It got so bad that I was afraid to carry the Twins. Mom took me to the Doctor and I told him what was happening, he would run test after test, but he could find nothing wrong. When it got to the point that I could barely walk the Doctor sent me to Brigs Hospital for test and they too came back negative. All the Doctors agreed that there was a problem in the nerve system, but they just couldn't find it or what was causing it. When the Twins were about 2 months old I went back to work because Mom and Dad need the help. I would only help for about 2 hours each day, I was glad to be back at work for that time. Dad had designed me a chair and a Friend of his had built it, so I could sit in it while I made the Yeast Bread or Rolls. Normally Anna and the Twins would come and get me, but today I had decided to walk. The first person I met was Sue. We starting talking and I invited her to come with me up to the house so we could talk and catch up with each other. We were about half way home when I fell, we were closer to my house so she went there and told Anna and she called Dad, who arrived at my side about the same time as Sue. I was just comming too when they got to me, Dad just picked me up and put me in the Golf Cart and took me home! When the Doctor got there I was feeling better but I couldn't move my right leg and was surprised to see him, I gave Dad a sour look. The Doctor called the ambulance and when they got there, he had them fix the leg so I couldn't move it because he thought that the thigh bone ball were it fits in the hip plate, was pinching the nerve, so he want an X Ray of it. When they placed me on the backboard, I started having sharp, shooting pains from the bottom of my foot to the top of my head on my right side. By the time we arrive at the hospital I had passed out again because the pain was so severe. They took me straight to X Ray and the men reported to my Doctor and told him what had happen on the way in. When the X Rays came back normal, the Doctor just shook his head and throw up his hands, because he could not find the problem. He then order a X Ray of my head and that too came back normal. When the feeling came back into my leg he let me go home. When I got home Mom was there with Anna and the Children I sat on the couch with Bonnie and Donald talking to them because they were worried about me. We talked for a long time until it was time for Grace and Bradley to eat, I was getting hungry too. Anna helped me to get into their room so we could feed them while Donald read to us. We were planning to take Bonnie shopping for School Clothes that weekend and with Anna's help we would get the shopping over with. Dad brough the Van up for us to use to go shopping. I tried to get him to go with us but he wouldn't have none of it, he knew what was going to happen, he just laughted at me. Anna had heard about the shopping trip last year and she thought it was so very funny until she saw Bonnie in action. Bonnie loved to shop and buying School Clothes, she said it was like Christmas in August. By the time we got home, Anna just fell into a chair exhausted, and asked how could one girl do that much shopping in one day! All I said was wait until the fashion shop that Bonnie would put on at the house tomorrow for the Family. Anna just groaned and went to help Bonnie with her new clothes. It was all we could do to get Bonnie in bed that night and for once I was glad when they were asleep. The next morning Bonnie had everyone up early to load her new clothes in the Van and after we feed the Twins, we went up to the house, where Bonnie put on her new clothes. After the last change Bonnie went in and showed it to the Family, but when she came back in she started crying and told me that Jennifer, a third cousin, said that we need to move out of the house and into a RV to rent and fired from my job. I went into the Dinning Room to talk to Jennifer to see what was going on. Jennifer told me that I should move out of that nice house that Dad had built and let the Family have it to make money on by renting it out, sence I could no long work I should just move out and off the Farm. All I did was cost the Family money and my Brats should be kept out of sight, because they were an embarrassment, and Bonnie was a freak and should be kept behind a locked doors. I walked to the Kitchen Door and told Anna to take the Children back to the house and I would be there in a bit. Dad met me half way back to Jennifer, I just walked around him. I stoped in the middle of the room and asked for a show of hands to see how many wanted me to leave the business and how many though that my Children were an embarrassment or freak of nature with me looking at Jennifer. When Jennifer and her Family raised their hands wanting me to leave the business but not the part about my Children. I asked them how much money did they have in the business and Jennifer said that she had 25 Thousand in the business. I just nodded, and I told her that was an impressive amount. I asked Jennifer were was she, when the Family need all the work done on the house, RV Park, and land? Everyone there knew that I was boiling mad and the calmer I got the madder I got. You were on some Island laying on the beach getting a tan while we did all of the work and for your information I put in over 350 Thousand Dollars plus I helped build the business to what it is now and as for my Children, if you don't like them, then you can just stay on that beach in the sun! I got my check book out and wrote her a check for 30 Thousand Dollars and handed it to her and told her to get out and stay out!!!! I left and went outside to walk it off, in the yard. After I had left the rest of the Family had told Jennifer that she should be ashamed of herself and that she shouldn't have said that about the Children. Dad gave me time to cool off before he came out to talk to me. When Dad came out he sat down beside me and said that Jennifer had left and told me what the Family had said to Jennifer. You see Mom and Dad gave me an allowance when I was a little girl, and I would save it until I had about 1 Thousand Dollars then I would pick out a Stock to buy and Dad would buy it for me. I would watch it grow and then I would have Dad sell it when it doubled. After the second time of selling at a profit, then Dad took to buying the same Stocks or Shares. Then one day I got lucky and bought 300 Shares of a Growing Company and when I sold the Shares I had made 3 Millions Dollars on the sell. By the time I was 18, I was worth about 8 Million Dollars and Dad was worth about 16 Million. So you see I didn't have to work if I didn't want too, but I wanted to work at something I liked, which was the house and RV Park. When it was just me I would take just enough money to pay for my Health and Auto Insurance and I would work for my other living expenses. When Wayne and I got together, I had told him about the money and he told me not to use it, that he would buy what we needed. So it had been setting in the bank growing all that time, until we found the Farm and bought it. Dad took me home, Bonnie met us at the door still crying, I took her in my arms and hugged her. We both cried and then we talked about what Jennifer has said and how to deal with it, which was hard to do. I let her talk it out and between the two of us, which was hard to do, we decussed weather or not to walk away or saying something to the person being mean and saying bad things to her. Bonnie said that it was hard for her listening to Jennifer being so mean because she is Family, she said strangers it was as hard because it doesn't matter what they say. I had always told Bonnie that she was beautiful and smart and that their would always be people who were mean and that it was better to walk away saying "have a beautiful day". Miriam and Jill came over and the girls went off to talk and play. Miriam talked and played with Donald and when Grace and Bradley woke up we feed them while Donald read to us. Donald was reading on the third grade level so Miriam and I decussed what to do for him. At the Day Care Miriam had him in her room and was teaching him simple math and working on his writing. Donald's writing needed a lot of work, but for his age I though it was beautiful, what can I say, every thing he does is beautiful. Miriam and I had been talking about Flowers, Trees, Children, Games, and what had been going on sence the last time we had talked, which was almost everyday!!! Miriam and Jill had been riding horses together and they found that it had helped Jill. Jill was about 2 years old when she last walk and Miriam had excerised. Jill's Doctors had told Miriam that riding horses would help to get her walking again. It worked too, she now walks using the wheelchair as a walker and is quite pleased with herself. It took a lot of hard work and pain, excerising the leg and back muscles, it had to be done before she could ride. At first Jill could ride only 10 minutes and then she would be in so much pain that Miriam almost stoped the riding, that is until she noticed that Jill had more movement in her legs. To make sure Jill hadn't hurt the muscles, Miriam had to take Jill to the Doctor every Friday. When Jill was up to 50 minutes of riding time and some pain, she was able to walk short distants but she still had to use the wheelchair to go shopping, because she couldn't walk or stand for long periods. With all of the added worry, Miriam was always so tired, that when she would come over she would fall asleep while we were talking. When she would go to sleep I would just let her sleep on the couch, because I was afraid that Miriam would fall asleep driving home. Anna and I would feed and change Grace and Bradley while Donald read to us, and Bonnie and Jill would be in the bedroom playing or getting ready for bed or sometime they would come in with us and listen to the story. Normally when everyone was in bed sound asleep I would go to bed and wouldn't get up till morning, but not that night. That night I kept hearing noises and would go looking to see what it was, but the third time it happen, I didn't turn the lights on. The noise had been loud enough to wake Anna too, so when she came out to see what was going on, I told her not to turn the lights on and handed her the phone. We walked room to room checking the windows, when we got to Donald's room we heard the noise again, except it was louder and we could tell it was coming from there. We pushed the door open slowly and peeped around it and saw the outline of someone outside at the window. I pushed Anna back and told her watch while I went in and got Donald and brough him back to her. I stayed close to the walls and moved slowly so the person couldn't see what I was doing. Donald didn't use a night light so that made it easier for me to get him and leave the room without the man seeing me. I took him to Anna's room and put him in her bed. We went out and called the police and told them what was happening, they told us that it would be at least 30 minutes before they could get there and for us to leave and go somewhere safe until they could get there. When I told them that I had 2 Children age 8 and 1 of them in a wheelchair, 1 Child age 3, and 2 Children age 6 months, plus 3 adult Ladies and the fact the person was between us and freedom. They then asked if I had a basement with a door that could be locked from the other side, I said yes but I couldn't keep it locked as the lock was on the wrong side. I told them that we would head for the woods out the basement door and they could call me on my cell phone when they cought the person. I went in and woke Miriam up and told her what was going on and what we were going to do. Anna was waking Donald and putting his shoes on, Miriam and I woke the girls and put their shoes on as well. Miriam grabed three blankets and then took Donald, Bonnie, and Jill down to the basement to wait for Anna, the Twins, and me. After we got the Twins, I walked to Donald's bedroom door to check on the person and I found that he was just about ready to take the window out. Anna had fixed a dapperbag with extra clothes, bottles, and blankets for the babies When we got down to them I told Bonnie to hold Donald's hand and not to talk and were we were going. Once we were outside, I fixed the basement door so it couldn't be opened from the inside. Miriam was in front with Bonnie and Donald following and Anna with Bradley in front of Me and Grace. Once we got out of the yard, we were in a shadow that went all the way to the woods. When we got in the woods, Miriam took them to a group of trees which they got behind, while I watched the house to make sure the person had not followed us. Miriam walked back to me and told me that they had cleaned a good size spot off and put the blankets down for them to sleep on. We stood there for a very long time when we saw the blue light coming up the driveway. Then we heard a lot of noise and then a lot of flashing lighs coming from the back of the house. I saw a much slower pair of headlights coming up the driveway and relized that is was Dad coming up the driveway. I called him hoping that he had his phone with him. When he answered the phone, I told him what had happen and were we were, he stoped before he got to the house. When he saw the police officers coming out of the house he went up and talked to them. Dad called me back and said he was coming to get us, because it would be a long time before we could go home. We met Dad about half way across the field. Anna, the Twins, Bonnie, Jill, and Donald got in the Golf Cart and he took them back to the main house and droped them off and came back and got Miriam and me. When we got there Mom was there fixing the Children Breakfast even though it was only 5:00 in the morning. All Miriam and I wanted was Coffee, because we knew that it was going to be a long day!!! Miriam took our Cups of Coffee outside and sit on the porch talking when Mom showed the police officers out to us. The Police officers asked us a lot of questions about the person that had broken into the house and we had no answers for them as we didn't see the person. They wanted to talk to Anna, so she helped Mom bring out the Cups and a Pot of Coffee. They asked her the same questions they had asked us. They wanted us to go back to the house and walk them through the story again. I went and got the Golf Cart Keys from Dad and the three of us went back up to the house and we told our story again, showing them what we did while we were in the house. When we arrived back at the house the Police officers met us at the door and we showed them were we were when we first heard noise. I told them that I had been in my bed, as well as Anna, Grace, and Bradley, Miriam had been on the couch, and Donald was in his bed. As we were talking we showed them the bed rooms. Then I told them what Anna and I had done to find the noise. They stoped us at Donald's door and wouldn't let us go any futher. The three of us told our storys up until the time when they met us up at the main house. While we were talking, one of the Police Officers got a phone call, and when he came back he ask us if we knew a Tom Walker? I said no as did Anna and Miriam. They told us we could not stay in the house until they were done which would be about 3 to 5 days. We went into each of the bed rooms getting enough clothes, baby beds, and books for Donald, to last that long. When we walked back outside and loaded the Golf Cart, I called up to the house and talked to Linda and asked her if she knew a Tom Walker, she did! The man who had raped her when she had been a teenager. I told Linda that is the man who had broken into the house and asked if it was alright if I told the Police Officers who he was, she said yes!! I went back into my house and told them who Tom Walker was and they wanted to talk to Linda up at the main house. We went back up to the main house for more Coffee and to talk to Mom, who would be with Linda when she talked with the Police Officers. About three hours later the Police officers came to talk to Linda, and Mom went with them, Miriam took over Mom's job and I took over Lindas. They talked to Linda for about 2 hours and when they came out Mom and Linda was as white as a sheet. Mom told Linda to go out and sit on the porch and she would be there just as soon as she got them some Coffee and Cake. They stayed out there for a long time and just talked until they felt better. When they came back in they were still shaky but looked better!! After making sure they were alright, we left to find Dad to get the Keys to the RV we would be staying in until the Police were done with the house. Miriam and I went down to the RV Park Office and turned the power on for the RV we would be using and started moving in. We went in and turned the Air Conditioner on high so it would cool off. When we had the baby beds set up and ready for them, we went back up and got Anna and the Twins, and Donald. Miriam was taking Bonnie with her and Jill, for the weekend and would ride the bus home on Monday evening. All weekend and the week that followed, the Police came in and out to either talk to me, or Linda, or just going up to the house to do some more work. By the next Saturday they were done and came and told me that we could move back in, but the house need some work done to the back of the house. Anna stayed with The Twins, Donald, and Bonnie while I went up to the house to see what they were talking about. When I got to the back of the house I knew what they were talking about! That part of the house need more than some work it need a lot of work because of all of the bullet holes, missing windows, and ceiling, walls, and floor. We couldn't move back in until that was fixed. I called Danny and asked him to come over and look at the house to see when he could get a crew over to work on it so we could move back in. He was able to come over that evening. When Danny came in and saw the damage, his eyes got as big as saucers!! What in the world happen here, Danny asked? I told him about the break in and the shoting, I didn't know at the time that the man had died when he fell through the window to the ground two storys below. Danny asked if me and the Children were OK, and I told him that the Children sept through everthing except the walk across field. We talked for a while and he told me how his Family was, what they had been working on, about the new equipment that they had gotten. When we were walking back outside he told me that he would have a crew here Monday morning to start the repare work and it would take about week to 2 weeks depending on how much internal damage was done, also he wanted to check the electric wiring. Early Monday morning Danny and his crew show up to work in the house and outside checking and repairing holes in the Logs. They had to move everything out of the way and went to store them in the store room and that is when they found that there was a lot of damage in there as well. He had the men remove everything out of there and put it in the living room. I went up to the house and took Danny and his men lunch and drinks. I sat the picknick table up and put the tablecloth on it then sat the food and drinks on it. Danny and his men came out and saw what I was doing and thanked me while they got what they wanted. He told me that I needed to see what they had found. We went in and he show me all of the damage that they had done. They were going to have to rebuild that room with some minor work to be done in the store room and both rooms had to be rewired plus two light fixtures. Before the work started Danny had taken pictures of the damages and when they had empty the store room he had taken pictures in there as well. After the lunchbreak Danny left to get a dumpster to put all of the debris in. When the men went back to work and I cleaned the mess up and packed the left overs and put the table and tablecloth up, I went back down to the RV. I was going back to work in November and I wanted the house done. Because of the Twins I was only working day time except on Holidays when I would work evenings. By the first of November, Danny had the house done and we were moving back in. It felt so good to be back home with lots of room to move around in and with the Twins crawling all over the place we had to put up gates to keep them in one room. Donald's 4 Birthday was coming up, I had no idea what to get him. What Donald wanted was Harry Potter And The Sorcerer's Stone, the Book and Movie, and a Big Bicycle. Donald had picked out a 14 inch Batman Bicycle with training wheels on our last trip to Wal - Mart, which Anna had gone back and picked up the next day. Mom and Dad had him a Computer with Spelling Word games, Fred and Ontonette had gotten him Board Games plus Math Games for the Computer, Linda had him Clothes and Science Books about the Stars, and more than likely I would get him Harry Potter Book and Movie. All of Donald's friends had been invited to the party and as always it would be in the Dinning Room at the house after the Breakfast Crowded left. We enjoyed decorating for all partys and we tried to never use the same scene unless it is asked for. I went down to the storage room in the basement to go through all of the decorations to see what we had. You see we were also known for our partys and decorations sence we did a lot of different partys. This year Donald wanted a Super Hero Man Day Birthday Party, all the Party Hats had to have a different Super Hero on it as did the Plates which Ontonette, Linda, and I had painted on Stoneware Plates for the Party, which his Guest would take home as a party favor. On Thanksgiving Morning I made Donald his Birthday Breakfast of Blueberry Pancakes, Bacon, and Fresh Orange Juice and went to get him up. Normally he would beat up so after I checked the time I knew something was wrong and boy was it!!! When I shook him I noticed that he had red spots on his face. Donald had Chicken Poxs!! After giving him something for the tempature, I started calling all of his Guest and letting them know that he had Chicken Poxs. All 15 Children who had been invited had the Chicken Poxs, so I called Miriam to see how many Children in her Day Care had them. Miriam told me that out of 75 Children, 30 had been out the week before Thanksgiving, so I told her that 15 more had gotten the Chicken Poxs. After told me that she would be up to help with the Thanksgiving Crowd I hung up and called Mom and told her about Donald. I went in to check on the Twins and found that they too had the Chicken Pox. Can this day get any worse? I gress it can because when I went to check on Bonnie I found Anna in with Bonnie and they both had them too!!! There is no way I could go to work with the whole house sick so I called Mom back and told her about the Twins, Anna, and Bonnie have the Chicken Poxs. It was long after that Miriam called me and told me that Jill had the Chicken Poxs and couldn't come to work. I called the Doctor and got him to call in something for everyone and he had the Drug Store to deliver it all to me. I gave all the Children a bath in Oatmeal and then put Calamine Lotion on them, then it was Anna turn. I turned on the Air Conditioner to keep it cool to help prevent the scratching. I moved Bonnie and Donald into my bed so I could keep watch on them and sence Anna's bed was in with the Twins, she watch them. By the next day Anna's temperature had gone up to almost 103.9 and the Chicken Poxs had gotten so bad that you couldn't touch her except with a needle point without touching a Pox. The Doctor called me to find out how everyone was doing, I told him that the Children were doing better but Anna wasn't, that her temperature was going up and that she was in a lot of pain. He told me to put Anna in the bath tub with the Oatmeal and keep her there until he arrived. By the time he arrived Anna's temperature had gone up to 104 and the Ambulance was on it's way. I had also called Mom and told her what was happening and asked that she go with Anna to the hospital because I didn't want her to be alone. After the Doctor checked her out, he was in agreement with me. He to was afraid that the Chicken Poxs had affected her Liver and Kidneys. He helped me get her out of the tub and dry her off so we could put her in a white cotton nightgown for the ride to the hospital. After the Ambulance left with Anna, Mom, and the Doctor, I went in to check on the Children to see if they need some Juice or another bath. All were asleep except Bonnie, who ask what was going on and I told her that the Chicken Poxs had made Anna very sick and she needed to be in the hospital to make sure that she would be alright. By the next day everyone was feeling a bit better so I made sure that everyone drink their Juices, took their baths, and ate when they were able too. Mom called me from the hospital and told me the test on Anna's Liver and Kidneys had come back negative, the Chicken Poxs had not hurt her Liver and Kidneys. I was giving baths about every 3 to 4 hours as they needed it. That was the longest 72 hours I have ever spent, because the Children had felt so bad and all I could do was give them baths and put Calamine Lotion on them. Dad would come and bring me Juices and other thing that I would need, encluding Thanksgiving Dinner. It took him five trips from the Golf Cart to my Kitchen to bring in all of the Food. The Food smelled so good that it made me hungry, because all I had had during that time was some Crackers and Juice, so I made me Turkey Breast and Tomato Sandwich. Then it was time to give everyone their baths and put on the Calamine Lotion. When everyone's temperature broke, they started eating again so I feed the Twins some of the Turkey and Creamed Sweet Potatoes and fixed Sliced Turkey and Sweet Potatoes for Bonnie, and Donald. Mom called me every day from the hospital and to keep us up on how Anna was doing. Anna's temperature was coming down but slowly, slower than they liked, but it was coming down. It was 2 days after the Children's temperature had gone back to normal that Anna's broke. She was feeling better and was drinking and eating a little and sleep a lot. So by the time the hospital let Anna come home, the Children's Chicken Poxs were almost gone, and all I had to do was put Calamine Lotion on the few spots that was left. When Mom told me that Anna was coming home, I moved the Twins into my room so that Anna could get some rest. We all were very glad to see Anna home, the Children wanted to stay and talk, but Anna was very tired and weak from the ride home and all she wanted to do was sleep.
Donald want to wait to have his Birthday Party when Anna
was able to attend.
So we set the date for a week later, December 10, I got
started sending out invitations to all of Donald's Friends
and our Family.
The Family won't be able to come in until the week before
Christmas and that was OK with Donald, because he knew
that when the Family came in there would be another party
then.
You know I really love my Family, they know how to make
everyone happy and more importantly the Children.
I think that the reason for that is that they are still Children
at heart, even when they are having a bad year, come
Christmas everyone turns into Children with the glow of
Children.
This year two of my Aunts and Uncles were layed off and
now they were going to stay here and work at the house.
Alice and Ben were routers for a big trucking company.
Their Company was having to cut back because of the
increase of fuel prices.
This kind of cost was hurting a lot of Companys and their
workers.
We at the house are tring to go green by adding Motor
Scooter, for the Guests to rent so they can go exploring
the country side.
We also have Beautiful Mountain Parks that our Guests like
to visit and are easy to get to with the Scooters.
This is to be Alice's Job, she will be the person to see about
renting the Scooters and get directions and maps of the area.
Ben's hobby was working on small Motor Cycles and now
his job will be to keep the Scooters in good running order.
Betty and Frank worked at a Company who produced and
installed Solar Panels for Homes and Companys.
It will be there job to help the house go more green than
we already are and maintain it.
Right now, we are looking at Solar Panels, Cow Dun Power,
and maybe Windmill Power, because here in the Winter the
wind can really blow, but does it blow enough, that is just
some of the questions we will be asking Betty and Frank.
The Family Lots now have two more RV's to move in as
soon as Danny have them ready.
As you can see we have a lot going on, starting after the
first of the year, now the Aunts and Uncles are taking the
time to get their lots and homes ready and taking a break
to enjoy the Holiday Season.
Once we have our new green plans up and running, the
Aunts and Uncles will also be working for our Neighbors
who wants to go green also.
With Donald's Birthday Party so close we had a lot of work
to do to get ready, we already had the Plates, Glasses, and
Silver Ware ready, we had to get the Small Luncheon, Cake,
Homemade Ice Cream, and Drinks ready. May 08 THE BEGINNING, Chapter 8THE BEGINNING This Story is Fictional as the Names CHAPTER 8
Dad had been down at Joes, soon to be Toms, when he ran into Wayne. They talked for a long while, when Wayne asked Dad if he could come and see me, as in ask me out on a date. We are still married and Dad knew that I still loved Wayne. Wayne had told Dad that he had not had a drink sence Bonnie had gotten so sick by the bug bite, which had happened almost 2 year ago. Dad told him to call me, and it was alright with him as long as he didn't hurt me again. When Dad got home and told me about the meeting with Wayne and what Wayne wanted to do, I was scared, happy, and excited. Fred and Ontonette came in the first week of April and Danny had just gotten their place done so it was ready for them to move in. Mom, Bonnie, and I went down to help them take their thing out of the old RV and move it in the new one because Dad had bought their old RV to set up in the Park to be used by us or rented out. Sue came back the second week of April with her Daughter Sally, who wanted have her Wedding here. When Wayne called I was in a meeting with Sue and Sally, along with the Staff that would be working with them to help Sally to have a Beautiful Wedding. I had to leave the meeting to take the call and when he asked me out for the next evening I just said yes! Wayne also wanted to know if he could come and see Bonnie for her Birthday and I said he could, and that it would be the next weekend on Saturday, but he wanted to come on Friday evening. When I went back into the meeting everyone there knew what was going on, the Staff had told Sue and Sally what the call was about, so they just asked me what did I say, and I told them I had said yes for the next day's date! After the meeting was over I asked Sue if we could talk. Sue told me that she had met with her husband after leaving here and they talked a lot about their lives together and found that he had not been happy for a long time, he just hadn't known how to tell her, so they decided to get a divorce. Then I asked her, is he coming to the Wedding, and how was she going to feel seeing him there with his new lady friend? Sue told me that they would be staying in the RV Park and she wanted us to seat them on the other end of the first row. Breakfast might be a problem because there usually weren't that many people there then, if needed we would serve Sue in her room or on the porch, if he was going to be there. When Sue started to leave, she stoped and looked at me and told me that the other woman had been her best friend! I had no idea as to what to say, it just blew my mind that a trusted friend would do something like that! I went to Mom and told her what Sue had told me, while I was telling Mom another though hit me, what about the Bride's Party. Mom had seen this out in the World, but for us it had only happen on TV. I left it up to Mom and Linda to see that they did not cross paths too often. The next morning Mom had another talk with Sue and found out about the Bride's Party and was told that the lady friend would be there but she wouldn't be staying long. We had a whole month to get ready for the Wedding and get the Flowers and designs done, so the Staff worked hard to make this a beautiful Wedding for Sally. The Wedding was the first of June and the Guests would arrive the week before, the Groom and most of the Wedding Guests would be staying in the RV Park and Sue and Sally, along with the Bride's Maids would be staying at the house. When Wayne came to pick me up that evening, Mom was there, because she was going to watch Bonnie and Donald for me and to tell me how he was dressed, because he hadn't told me were we were going. When she told me that he was dressed very nice and that I had picked the right outfit, I felt better. When I came in, Bonnie and Donald was sitting on his lap and Donald was reading to them, I wanted to take pictures but Mom had already taken the picture. After Donald was done reading, we told them goodby and we would see them when we got back. Wayne took me to dinner and dancing and we had great fun, but you could tell we were nervous. When he took me home at the end of the date, he asked me for another date the next weekend, on Saturday at 11:00 and I said yes but I would have to back by 5:00 to help with the Supper Crowd. When he came in to say goodnite to Bonnie and Donald, they grabed him and told him good nite and they loved him which made it hard for him to leave them. We talked about that and he told me that he was going to do his best never to let us or himself down again and then he kissed me goodby and promised to see me the next Saturday. Joe came up to make deliverys and he wanted to know what I had done to Wayne and that whatever had happen, it had made a big difference in Wayne, because he had not stoped smiling. We went out like that until just before the Wedding. I would be so busy helping with the Wedding that late at night he would call and we would talk until I would get so sleep that he would wish me a good night and hang up, the kind of good night that leaves a smile on your face. The Bride and Groom would have their Partys in the Study, because it was going to be about 10 people at each and the Bride and Groom were leaving after the Reception. Wayne and I dated when we could get away together, even if it was just for an hour or two, until one night he spent the night with me and left early before Bonnie and Donald woke up. Sometimes he would come over and we would walk around the Farm and sometimes I would tell him about the Fruit Trees I wanted to plant down at the RV Park and in the Field above the RV Park and sometimes he would tell me about how hard it had been for him when he quite drinking. Wayne also told me that sometime he would get jealous because of the money I had and he knew that he would never be able to make that kind of money. He also knew that the money wasn't important to me, because I didn't go and get it durning the hard times, we would just work harder for what we needed. He wouldn't tell me all of it but the few thing he would tell me, lead me to believe that he had, had a very hard time. He told me one time that he had done it for himself, because after Bonnie got sick because of the bug bite, he decided that if he wanted to be there for us, then he would have to quite drinking. He wanted me to understand that he hadn't quite drinking for us, he had quite drinking for himself. We were falling in love again and growing closer than we had before, which felt like I could walk on air. This time it wasn't just me who loved, but this time he really loved me, the way a man is suppose to love a woman who you plan to marry. Before he would tell me he loved me, but I think he liked me alot and we were best friends, I guess he thought that was love. But this time, everyone saw the difference and I knew that it would be very different. I told Mom and Dad that Wayne and I were falling in love, they were OK with it as long as it didn't hurt me or the Children. It came as no surprise when we told Mom and Dad that we were planing to say our Vows again. They were so happy for us, you see Mom hadn't seen Wayne much before, but when she saw Wayne she knew that he was really happy and in Love with me. She told me latter that she was afraid that it would be a repete of before, but after seeing and talking to him, she relized that his love for me came pouring out from his eyes, mouth, and body. His eyes followed you around the room with the love pouring out for all to see. So with their blessing, we set the date for the weekend before his Birthday, which was in September. We saw each other as often as we could, we would go out as a couple and as a family and when we couldn't we would talk on the phone, which made me happy that he really did mean what he said. Wayne was now a patience person, Bonnie and Donald could be a handful sometime, but Wayne got them both talking and laughing, he turned the evening around with patience and a firm tone of voice. You see, even though they loved Wayne they still had to test him to see what he would let them do, and he had to show them that he would be loving and firm. Watching them together made me so happy, because I knew Wayne could be like this and now he know it too so that makes him more patience, more loving, and more free to be a Father. I was so happy that I felt that I could walk on clouds, but Bonnie and Donald would talk about the Family outings for days afterwards, they had enjoyed them so much. So we made plans to stay at home and have a Barbecue that weekend, so Bonnie and Donald were getting all of their balls and outside toys out, for us to play with. All day they would come in wanting me to call Wayne and find out why he wasn't there yet, so after their third trip in I called Paul, but he wasn't in. Bonnie and Donald were getting hyper waiting on Wayne to get there so they could play before we eat, but it wasn't to be. When he didn't come, I again call Paul but he still wasn't in and I figured that something had come up and he would call me to let us know why he hadn't come. It was the weekend before we were to say our Vows, Wayne had a accident with the new tractor, the axle had broken and flipped over. Paul, his boss came late that night and told me what had happen and that he had been with Wayne when the accident happen. He told me that Wayne had told him to tell me, "that he loved me, Bonnie and Donald and that he was sorry but he wouldn't be around for Grace to be born," while they were waiting for the ambulance. I was crying so hard that Paul called Mom and Dad and told them what had happen. They came down to the Apartment to stay with me, because they didn't want me to be alone. So it was a good thing that Bonnie and Donald were asleep, because I don't think I could have been able to deal with their heartbreak as well. After I thanked Paul for coming over to tell me himself. You could tell that it hurt him to have to tell me about the accident, but I also got the feeling that he hadn't told me everthing, I am not sure that I want to know that part. I had no idea what Paul was talking about when he told me about Grace, I didn't even know that I was going to have a baby. We didn't get much sleep that night, because I did a lot of crying and sometimes I would just talk. We talked about the past and how Wayne was then, the fun time we had, the happiness I felt then when I found I was going to have Bonnie, and the present, the differance that time had made in Wayne, his happiness that you could tell he felt. I had been quiet for a while when I turned to them asked if we could bury Wayne on the Farm in his favorite place out in the field above the RV Park were he would be surround by the Fruit Trees. They said yes, so Dad called Danny and had him come in and fix the area that I wanted. Dad had also called the Family and told them what had happen, so the Family were all coming in! You see Wayne had picked the place himself, on our many walks around the Farm, so I knew were he wanted to be. I wanted him close so we could go and be with him and talk to him, and so we would still be together. On the day of the Funeral Bob had put a Black Ribbon on all of the Buildings, but on the House he had went around the whole house with bows on all of the porch posts. I knew it would be very hard for Bonnie and me to say goodby, so we took our time and we did a lot of talking and I explained that Wayne would always be with us in our hearts and he would be watching over us! I also told Bonnie that if she needed to talk to her Daddy that all she had to do was look up at the sky and tell him everything, and that her Daddy would alway hear her. When Bonnie felt better, we walked back to the house, all of our Friends and Family were at the house waiting for us. Bonnie didn't feel like company so she went to her room, Jill and I went down to check on her. Bonnie was just laying there staring at nothing, I asked if she wanted to talk and if she wanted a little company, when she saw Jill, she said yes. I would go in every little bit to check on her and found that Jill was telling Bonnie about losing her Daddy. I don't know who cryed more Jill or Bonnie, but they seamed to be working it out or at least I hope so. Our Guests were a great group of people and were being very respectful toward us. Mom and Dad hadn't heard Paul tell me about Grace or they would have know what was happening when I passed out that day. So they just put it down to the Funeral, but when it happened a third time, Mom just put me in the Van and took me to the Doctor. He ran some test so when he came back in and told us that I was going to have a Baby, and of course I passed out again!! The Doctor was worried about me and the Baby, because he could tell that I wasn't handling Wayne's death very well. When he found out what we had planed to do the weekend after his Death, he understood why I was having such a hard time trying to come to terms with his death. He told Mom that I needed to get away for awhile to work it out I would lose the Baby and then I would be very sick!! He also suggested that I take Bonnie with me so we could work it out together. So when we got home she put me to bed and told me to stay there and only get up to go to the bathroom, she sent Dad down with me some lunch and to talk, he told me that he was sending us to a place out west, to a working Ranch, that belonged to a Friend of his. I really didn't want to go and said so very clearly, but Dad said I would be going and that I wouldn't be working at the Ranch, just taking it easy and being with Bonnie because she needed this time too. We were to leave that Friday and fly out to the airport were we were to be met and taken to the Ranch. I would get so tired when they told me about the plans and all of the traveling we would have to do. I wanted to stay closer to home, but they just said that we need to be around different people, scenery, and maybe I would learn what I would need to know about a working Ranch sence I wanted to raise our own Cows in the future. So Dad took us to the airport and stayed with us until we got on the plane and even then he stayed until he was sure that we hadn't gotten off the plane, but had left on the plane. He knew that if he had left before the plane, we would have gone somewhere else closer to home. I had wanted to take Donald with us, but Mom and Dad wouldn't let me, so it was a very tearful parting. It was so very hard leaving Donald behind, because I had never been without him sence he was born, but like Dad said Bonnie and I needed this time together so we could talk and try to come to terms with Wayne's passing. They had made it sound so easy to work all of our feelings out in a week, but I knew different. It was going to be the hardest thing that I had ever had to do!!! I had all of these things running around in my head, while we were flying to our destination. When we landed at the airport we were to be picked up, but no one was there to meet us, and no one came in the hours that followed. I called the Ranch and was told that there was in fact someone there and that I was to find him and was hung up on!! I found that the people at the Ranch were very rude and very unpleasant. I don't see how they could be in a business that deals with people, they don't do it very well. Bonnie and I sat there and waited for four hours, so long in fact that a Police Officer came and asked us why we hadn't left yet. I told him that we were waiting for our ride which hadn't arrived yet. The Officer then called the Ranch to find out why they hadn't picked us up yet and was told that they were sending someone to pick us up. While the Officer was talking to them I walked over and asked to speak to them again. I told them don't brother, because we had waited for 4 hours, had been treated very rudely when I had called earlier, and for them to send Dad's money back to him. Bonnie and I gathered up our things, walked outside to get a cab so we could go to the hotel that the nice Police Officer had told us about, were we could stay for the week. When we checked into the hotel and went up to our room, I called Dad to let them know we were OK and where we were. Dad was very upset that his Friend had treated us like that, I told him that I had told his Friend to send him his money back. Dad was very worried about us, and I just told him that the hotel was just as good a place to relax and talk. After we said our goodbys, Bonnie and I went down and ate Supper, and to walk around a little so we would be tired enough to go to bed and sleep when we went back to our room. But when Bonnie woke up several time, because it was a strange place and she said that her Dad was calling her, I knew that it hadn't worked. This time was very hard on Bonnie, because she wanted to be with her Daddy. I explained to her that it was OK for her to miss her Daddy and he would understand why she was here. She would cry and beg to go home, so it took me a long time to calm her down. She finely crawled into my bed and went to sleep, that is where she stayed until late the next morning. We both slept in that morning and by the time we woke up, got dressed we were late for Breakfast. The Staff were very helpful when I explained why we were so late. So they found us some Fresh Berries and Pancakes for our Breakfast. Bonnie thanked them and told them that it was as good as my Breakfast, but Supper hadn't been that good. I suggested we take a walk down the street and look for a place to eat lunch, so that is what we did. We found a shop that Bonnie liked so we decided to do some shopping until it was time for lunch. Bonnie and I found the we didn't like the city, it was to noisey for us and crowded, but we made the best of it. We did a lot of walking, talking, and looking at all of the building, I think that most of them were made of glass. On one of our many walks we found a park for Bonnie to play in but it didn't have trees, come to thing of it, the trees that we did see were small trees. The streets we were on, had trees lining them which provided us with some shade because it was so hot, for our walks. One day we found some people that were sing at one corner, Bonnie being a music lover liked that. The music had people dancing on the sidewalk, but it wasn't long before the Police came and told us to move on. One of the Officers, was the one that we had met at the airport, Bonnie went to him and ask why they couldn't dance there. He told her that it would be dangerous, because someone could get hit by a car and they were making it hard for people to get into the shops. Bonnie could understand this because there were so many cars going up and down the street and people trying to walk on the sidewalk. I thanked him for suggesting the hotel, because it was a good one. After saying our goodbys to the Police Officer, we made our way down the street looking for another shop that the Staff at the hotel had told us about. This shop had everything, from clothes to toys, every kind of sweets you could think of. We walked all around the shop looking at all they had, I can tell you that the only thing we got was some Chocolate Cookies and Candy. We did find things that we enjoyed very much but we were very glad when the week was over and it was time to go home!! Our plane was on time so we didn't have to wait very long and sence we were in first class the food was better this time. Bonnie made friends with all the people in there, she even met the pilot, who took her on a ture of the airplane. So when we landed, we were very happy to see Dad waiting on us and Bonnie had a lot to tell him about our trip while he would took us home. After Bonnie had made her rounds and told everyone all we had done and handed out presents, she was ready for bed. Donald was so glad to see us and when I gave him his special gift he to was ready for bed. After everyone was asleep Dad told me that his Friend had called him and apologized for their treatment of us. What he didn't tell me, was that his friend's Daughter - In - Law had not want a Child on the place with Downs. It was no surprise when Mom and Dad told me that they wouldn't let me come back full time until after the Baby was born. I wanted to get some paper work done and spend time with Bonnie and Donald, they found that they liked me being around more, but I didn't like being so still so I cleaned the Apartment and then the Basement Kitchen. Then one day when I had the Apartment and Basement Kitchen so clean it would shine, I decided that I needed to do something else, so I went outside to find Bob to see what he was up to. I wanted to decuss the Fruit Trees with him. When I found him and his crew, they were working on new Tulip and Iris beds. When I explained what that I wanted to plant Fruit Trees around the RV Park and in the field above it where Wayne was buried and I wanted them to be Dwarf Apple, Peach, Pear, and Full Size Black Cherry Trees. He liked the idea so we talked about when we could plant them. When Bob told me we could plant the Fruit Trees now and that we could put in three rows at the RV Park. You see, when Bob had owned the place that had been his idea too. We went down and measured out the area between the Road and the first roll of RVs. We found that we could put in 250 Fruit Trees in that area alone. Sence the Red and Yellow Delicious Apple Trees have to be planted side by side, we decided that the first 9 Dwarf Apple Trees would be first, then the Peach Trees, and the Pear Trees until that site was done. The next 4 rows we could plant 100 Fruit Trees each and the next 3 rows would 76 Trees and the rest of the rows would only have 50 Fruit Trees each. Once we knew how many Trees we would need we went into Plant & Tree Company to see how many they had in stock, and if they had to order them how long it would take. When we left, we had 8 Trees in the bed of the Truck and 15 Trees in the Trailor, and the Company were going to deliver the rest of the 200 Fruit Trees that they had in stock. When we got back to the RV Park, Bob's crew had marked each Tree site so all they had to do was dig the hole and plant the Tree, also there was a Chair waiting for me. This was a very loud statement, No You May Not Help Dig The Holes, you can watch. It wasn't long before I found that I wasn't the only one watching, the RV Guests were coming over and watching and talking, so it turned into a party like scene. The crew were digging 8 holes at a time so it didn't take them long to put in the 23 Trees that we had brought back. The crew went back to the Flower Beds to get that done so that they could start on the other Fruit Trees when they were delivered the next day. By the time the 200 Fruit Trees were planted, the crew had each dug 25 holes apeace. The Plant & Tree Company would deliver our Fruit Trees to us about every 4 to 5 days until we had all of the Fruit Trees in the ground, that is except the Black Cherry Trees, we had decided to wait until the next fall to get them. When all of the Fruit Trees had been planted we had 1, 128 Fruit Trees. I bet you are wondering what in the world are we going to do with all that Fruit. The hold idea with the Fruit was so that the Guests in the RV Park could pick the Fruit fresh from the Trees to eat and for the house to use, and the rest to be sold at Tom's Place. The Children would climb in the larger Fruit Trees, so I wanted the Trees to be smaller so they couldn't climb in them, the Dwarf Trees were perfect and another plus was the Trees wouldn't have as much Fruit on it like the Full Size Tree would have. Also they would help provide some shade for the Park the down side is that the Trees wouldn't start bareing Fruit until they were a couple of years old. The Blooms on these Trees would also add beauty to the Park and help cut down on the noise of the road and the noise of the Park. With the Thanksgiving Holidays were almost here and there would be a lot of cooking but Mom and Dad had said that I wouldn't be doing much if any, because I was getting so big and they didn't want me on my feet that long. So when I went in to see the Doctor, I told him about my feet swelling, he told me to keep my feet up as much as possable, then they checked me out and took pictures of the Baby, that is when we found out that I was having Twins. When I saw them I cried, the Doctor asked if I wanted to know what they were, I said that one was a girl, Grace, and the Doctor said that it right and the other was a boy. I cryed more because I was so happy and sad at the same time and then the Doctor wanted me to start coming in 2 times a month now instead of later, that worried me until he told me it was because I was having Twins. I was told that having Twins could be just as easy as having one, but to be on the safe side I needed start coming in more, that made sence to me. So when I got home, I went stright out to Wayne's Grave and sat down to talk to him about our babys, you see I wanted to name the boy, Bradley after him. You see Wayne's name is Bradley Wayne, and I wanted to name him Bradley Scott, because I don't think we could handle using Wayne. After talking to Wayne I was feeling very calm and I wanted to show my babies off to the Family so I went in and showed Mom, Linda, and Aunt Ontonette the pictures of the babies, they were socked but happy. They didn't like it when I would going down the steps to go to our Apartment because they were afraid that I would fall, so Mom and Linda were always there watching me and after that whenever I was walking around the yard I found that Bob or one of the Family was always there with me. I even found them in the Apartment after I got out of the shower, that was OK because it was funny when they tried to come up with some excuise for being there. When Mom heard that Dark Chocolate was good for Mothers to be, so she made sure that I got at least one surving a day. I had been complaining about driving and how hard it was for me that Mom decided that it would be better if she or some member of the Family would take me in for my Doctor's visits, because I couldn't fit behind the wheel any more. When Thanksgiving Week started I would just watch and talk to the Guests and Friends and if Mom or Dad came in and saw me they would check on me and then they would send me home because they seamed to know when my feet were hurting. I would go down to the Apartment and be with Bonnie and Donald to talk about everything and make plans what we were going to do and were the Twins were going to sleep, it seams the Bonnie wanted Grace to be in her room and Donald wanted Bradley to be in his. I told them that was a great idea and but what was they going to do when the babies started crying all the time and wouldn't it be better if the the babies had my bedroom, they would still be very close by, that seamed to be OK with that and I told them that I would be moving into the Livingroom. When Bonnie and Donald went to sleep I would get out my books on Twins, because you see Donald was reading on a second grade level and I didn't want him finding them because he would read them. I did most of my planning and reading after they went to sleep because it was quite, you can hear yourself think. Tonight I needed to plan Donald's Birthday Party, I had already invited his friends, but we needed Batman Plates, Cups, and Party Favors. Donald would be three year old and he was looking forward to his friends being at the party and having fun. For his presents he had asked for books as well as toys and games. For his Birthday Cake he wanted a Batman Cake so Aunt Ontonette was making him one!! Linda had got him books on Batman and Scobby-Doo and two pairs of PJ with them on it. Mom and Dad was getting him a Battery Powered Jeep and I was getting him his first Tricycle and the rest was getting him toys and clothes. The Morning of his Birthday, the Family Decorated the Dinning Room, after the last Guest had left after Breakfast. Dad had put everything together and had the Battery charged so it was ready to go. All of his Friends came to the Party and they were all hiding in the dinning room when we went upstairs. Donald was so happy! He and his Friends always had a great time along with the Family, you would think it was Christmas so we were all surprised when he started to cry. He told me that he had not gotten one of his Presents. I asked him what present that he didn't get and when he told me that Daddy had promised to be there for his Birthday, but he wasn't, because he was in Heaven. By this time Bonnie and I were crying too, so I took them into the Office and we talked about Daddy and I told them that Daddy was watching over them and that he wanted them to be happy so when our tears had dried and we felt better, we went back to the Party. The day wasn't as bright as it had been, but we did our best to have a very good time. Miriam and Jill was at the Birthday Party so Jill took Bonnie over to the side and they played and Miriam and I talked and watched over the whole Party. When Donald's friends started leaving, I was afraid that he might start crying again but he just told them he would see them after the Holidays. Miriam was going to stay because she was going to help out in the Bakery and down stairs Kitchen. After we got the Dinning Room cleared out again and ready for the Supper Crowd, we went down stairs. While they baked I sat talking to them and watching the Children play. The Dummy Waiter was kept very busy with all of the Turkeys, Chicken, Cornish Hens, Cakes, Cookies, and Pies go up to the main Kitchens. What I didn't know was for our Christmas present, Dad and Mom had gotten us a 4 Bedroom one story Log Cabin. They had gotten the idea when they learned that I was going to have Twins and Danny had been working on it. Danny was working flat out to try and get it done before the Babies came, so that we could go to our new home when we came home from the hospital. The Family, Friends, Staff, and Bob's crew had Thanksgiving the next day, but I couldn't eat much at a time so I would get a little bit, eat that and go back for more. When it was time for us to clear the Dinning Room, we all were so full of Food and love that we didn't want to move. After the Holidays it was time for me to go back to see the Doctor, he had expected me to have gained weight, I did but not enough. He wanted me to go into the hospital, so that they could run some tests, just to make sure that the babies were growing. I was to go in January 3rd for the tests. The Doctor called Mom and Dad and told them to watch me closely, because he was worried about one of the babys, and he told them what to watch for and what to do if it happen. You see the Doctor was afraid that one of the babys had died, so he was very worried. So for the rest of the month and December the Family watched me like a hawk, but by this time I was used to them always being around, so I didn't think nothing of it. In December I started see the Doctor two times a week, so Mom or Dad would take me and the Doctor would ask them questions while I was in the exam room. On our last visit before Christmas, Dad invited the Doctor and his Family to come to Christmas Dinner and he excepted. The day before Christmas Dad called the Doctor to remind him about Christmas Dinner and tell him that I was getting dizzy. That was when I had to go to bed and stay there except to go to the bathroom. Miriam came and stayed with me when she could and the Family did it the rest of the time so I wouldn't get to board and get up and work around the house. Mom and Bonnie took lots of pictures during the Christmas Party and Mom brought Miriam and me lots of Food and I ate until I was very full. But when it was time to open presents the whole Family and Friends came down to watch me open my gifts first and some stayed to talk and give Miriam a chance to go up and be with Jill when she open her gifts. When the Doctor came in after everyone left, he complained about the Food being so good and he had ate way to much. He asked me if my Family was always like this and I told him no they were worse than this, they had toned it down because of Wayne's death and respect for us. He wanted to know how I was feeling and how Bonnie was doing, I told him that I was still dizzy but OK and Bonnie was doing better, she still had times when she was very sad and I told him that I though that Donald was mad at Wayne for breaking his promise to be here for him! When Miriam came back down she had us some plates with lots of Desserts on them, the Doctor left us to enjoy our Desserts, saying that he would see me on the third of January. After the Christmas Holidays it slowed down to just a few Guests until the New Years Eve Party, when Miriam came and stayed with me, with Mom or Dad bring us all kinds of Food and Punch. After the Party, Mom and Dad came in to check on me and tell us how the Party had done. The four of us sat there talking and laughing until about 3:00 in the morning. The whole time we were talking Mom kept fixing my pillow or rearranging my covers and Dad would try to get us to eat more by offering to go up and get us more food. We were all close so when one had a problem we worried until the problem was fixed. I knew that Mom and Dad had been so worried about me sence Wayne's death. I didn't like it that they were begining to looked haggard. They all were glad when the ambulance came on the third to take me to the hospital for the test. What I didn't know that I would be staying until the babies came so that part came as a surprise to me. When I asked why I had to stay, they told me that they couldn't find the cause of my dizziness and to be on the safe side they were going to keep me. They also told me that all of my blood test had checked out normal and I asked if they had checked the babies for Downs or Autism. The test they have now wasn't reliable or at least that was what they told me. I know that I didn't feel the same way as I did with Bonnie, so I was hopeful that the babies would be fine! I was so tired of being in bed and not being able to walk around and do thing, I was getting very bored, so I got Mom to get me some yarn and Crochet Hooks so I could make something. She also got me some beginners books, so I could teach myself how to Crochet. So I would lay there and work with the Crochet Hooks until I learned some of the stitches then I decided to make two Receiving Blankets. Once I got them started I worked so hard on the Receiving Blankets that by the end of January I had them done. When February came I started working on a Blanket for Bonnie and Donald. That first week I was feeling great so I got a lot done on their Blankets, but by the second week I started having problems and late Friday night, February 8, my water broke. I called the Nurse and told them what had happen, they came in to check me that is when they told me that I was in hard labor and they were going to call the Doctor, Mom, and Dad. One of the Nurses stayed with me and we talked until it was time to take me down to the Labor Room, where the Doctor was waiting for me, along with some other Doctors for the Twins. I told my Doctor to save everything in case the babys needed the blood. Grace was born at 11:02 PM. and Bradley was born at 11:32 PM. April 29 THE BEGINNING

CHAPTER 7
After everyone enjoyed the Food, the Friendship, and the Family feel of the party. All of our Guests had said that when they stay with us, we make them feel like they are a part of our Family. That is what we wanted our Guests to feel and we hope that is the everyone will always feel. The Fireworks Show was put on by the two Towns that sat down the road from us, put on a Beautiful Show. We all just sat around the fires and enjoyed the Show and I don't think it was just the Children who loved it. Those of us who had to be up early, left after the Fireworks to put the Children to bed and get some sleep ourselfs. Danny and his crews were coming to start work on the RV Park. We were hoping to get at least 2 rows of RV parking spots completly done in the month of July and maybe get the RV Park Office. Danny had ordered the Bullet Proof Windows and both Stop Arms and their Motors in June and they had finally came in. Dad was going to work with them in the Mornings, I took the afternoons, Mom took the evenings, and Linda took the Desk and Phone. Linda liked to dress up so she was perfect for that job and once the RV Park was up and running she would be handling the reservations for that as well. When we got used to the routine of the added work, it wasn't as taxing, but we were still very tired at the end of each day. If anything could be said about all the extra work it would be, "its never dull". Also the Employee that we already had, we add more hours doing other jobs, if they wanted it. One day after Danny started work on the RV Park, I walked over with Bonnie and Donald to see him and ask if he would work for us and be the Boss of the yard crew. Bob had always loved working in the yard with the Flowers and mowing the yard so he was very happy to do that for us. Bob also knew that he would not always be here to see that the Gardens and Lawns were Beautiful, so he starting looking around for someone he could train, to care on his work after he was gone. We hire extra people for the Gardens and mowing the yard, to keep them in good shape. Bob didn't like the people we hired because they didn't know anything about gardening or yards. He would have to teach them the basics, but once he saw that they really wanted to learn, he realized that these were the people he wanted to carry on his work. He would hole classes in designing gardens in the evening after all of the work was done. It got so we didn't know what was going on outside because one day a Garden would be in one spot with several differents kinds of Flowers and the next that Garden would be gone and a new Garden would be in a new place with totally different Flowers or Bushes and sometimes it would even be trees. One rainy Morning after Breakfast I walked into the Lobby and stoped cold, it was absolutely Beautiful with all of the Flowers, Bushes, and Trees. Bob and his crew had brought the outside indoors for the Guests to enjoy. Bob was also teaching Bonnie and Jill these thing to, because they asked him and because he enjoyed being with them. Bob was the perfect teacher, because he enjoyed doing and seeing his creations come to life and it was fun to him so he was able to make it fun for others as well. One day toward the end of July, I had to take Bonnie shopping for School Clothes and get the supplies that she would need. I took Donald to the Day Care on the way to shop for Clothes and I was to pick him up on the way back. The easy part being the School supplies and the Clothes were the hard, with Bonnie being 6 years old, she knew about Clothes and she wanted certain kind of Clothes for just the right look. I just turned her loose in the Girl Section and just watched. She was in there for hours, first she picked out the jeans shorts, different styles and colors, then it was all kinds of shirts. I thought that we were done, oh no, she had to try everything on in the fitting room and match each thing up before we left the store. Everything had to be perfect or she would put it back and find something else to go in its place. When I saw that it was taking longer than I had planned, I called Miriam and mad arrangement to pick Donald up at her place, on our way home. Then it was socks, all colors. Once Bonnie was happy with the Clothes that she had picked out we paid for them and left, I was never so glad to leave that store as I was then. In some ways I was very proud of Bonnie, because she knew what she wanted and just hunted until she found what she wanted. What got me was that it took so long for her to decide what she wanted, like the colors to which colors and mix and match, when I tried to help it just made it worse so I let her do it. Like I said, she knew what she want, it was just the matching that she had trouble with. Once we left the store, Bonnie was very happy with what she had picked out. Bonnie told me that she was going to have a Fashion Show for Papa and Nannie. Bonnie had gotten the check out lady to place each pair together, in separate bags, so that they would be match when we got home. When we got home and unloaded the car, I remembered that we had not got her any Shoes or a Bookbag. I gave Donald his bath and got him dressed for bed, we went up and found that Bonnie was having a Fashion Show. Mom made the mistake of telling me in front of Bonnie that I had forgotten the Shoes. Bonnie wanted to go back right then and get her Shoes, I said no, but Nannie would take her and get the Shoes and Bookbag. Nannie could not understand why I didn't want to take her and I told her that it was something she didn't want to miss. They were going the next day, back to the same store. The next morning when we went up to make Breakfast, Bonnie sat in a chair waiting very quitely for Nannie to get done. The minute Breakfast was over, Bonnie got Nannie pulled her out the door, she told us they would be back in three hours. Mom and Bonnie did not get back until 4:00 that evening and they had 5 pairs of Shoes and 3 Bookbags. When they got home and Bonnie showed me what they had gotten, and all I said was, "three hours Mom". Mom just fell into a chair and didn't move for hour. Mom helped with the Supper Crowd, but we could tell that she was still very tired. Dad had been working with Danny on the RV Park and so we were to have a meeting the next morning after Breakfast, so he could bring us up to date. The next morning while we were fixing Breakfast, Mom told us about taking Bonnie shopping, you could still see the shock on her face. Mom had tried to get Bonnie to just take a pair of Tennis Shoes and a pair of Dress Shoes, Mom told us about going through all of the Tennis Shoes and all of the Dress Shoes. Bonnie got Mom to sat down and she went down the asle taking Shoes that she liked and brough them back to Mom and sat down on the floor in front of her and tried them all on. When she found what she wanted, she would put them into the Cart. Mom told us that the Bookbags were a little easier because they were all on hooks by size and color. The ones that were Bonnie's size were on the bottom, so Bonnie walked up and down looking at each one and trying on the ones she liked, and when she found the ones she wanted she would put it in the Cart. I said, just think we get to do this again for Winter Clothes and there were a lot of groans!! When the Dinning Room was clean we went in for the meeting. Dad started the meeting by telling us that they had gotten one side of the first row done and the Cement Patios had been poured along with the Dog Lots and it had costed 30 Thousand Dollars. The RV Office was still under construction and when they were done, then we would have another meeting to decuss the cost. As soon as the other side was done, the Pavers would come in and pave the road down the middle and the parking spots. I said, lets don't pave the Parking Spots and just Gravel it so it won't get so hot. Then it was my turn and I show them the profit we were finally making on the Guest Rooms and had tripled the Supper Menu Profits. I also told them that we had only made back 25 Thousand Dollars of the 450 Thousand Dollars we had spent on the rebuild of the house. When the meeting was over we got the Coffee Pots set to make a new Pot and filled the Tea Pitcher, we open the doors so the Guests could come in and get their drinks. In the middle of fixing Supper, Linda had to leave to work on setting up a Wedding!! When she came back in she was so excited, this was our first Wedding!! She had called Bob and asked him to be in on the meeting the next day to come up with ideas to show to the Mother of the Bride. We had a week to come up with some good ideas, because the Mother would be here the next weekend. If the Mother liked our ideas then the Wedding would be held in our Garden!! At the meeting Bob told us that he was going to set up five different sclections for an outdoor Wedding. Mom, Linda, and I were to come up with 5 different sclections also. It was a good thing that I take pictures of everything, because they would come in handy. After the meeting Bob left to get his crew and go into town to get the things that he would need to work on the Flowers. It was decided to get Plastic and then we would use Real Flowers for the Wedding. We all worked flat out coming up with the Food and the Decorations for a inside and outside Reception! By the time the Mother and the Bride checked in we were ready for them. The first thing Mom did was take them out and show them the area were Bob and his crew had set up each of the Wedding Scenes, then it was on to the Food and the indoor and outdoor Scenes for the Reception. We had fixed the Food Samples for them to taste, so they could decide which they wanted. I had made 5 one layer Cakes with Decorations, for them to taste. For me it was very nerveracking, because I knew that if we got this Wedding it would be great publicity for the Rolling K Farm and Bed and Breakfast House and Restraurant. By the end of the weekend, we didn't know any more than we did before they had come. All they said was they would let us know. I had taken pictures of all of the thing we had done and labeled them so if any Summer or Fall Wedding happened here, we would know what to do. Dad had call a meeting, to let us know how the RV Park was coming along, for the first of August. We were all in that meeting when the Phone came in. The Mother of the Bride were calling to tell us that they were coming in to make the selections for the Wedding, because the Wedding was to be in two weeks and it would be here at the Rolling K. All of our rooms were full, so we had to work fast to get Linda's Apartment cleaned up and all of her things and bed moved out, and the Twin Beds moved in. We had just gotten the room ready when the Mother and Bride came in. I asked them how they had heard of us and they told me that Kate and Don had told them about us. We left them to freshin up and went to set the Table up in the Kitchen. When they came in, we were as ready as we could be. It started off bad when the Bride wanted one Scene outside and the Mother wanted another. Bob steped in and suggested that we combined the two Scenes. The Bride wanted to go with the Fancy Food Courses and Mother want Grilled Chicken and Fresh Sea Food Salad Course. Mom took the Mother out to the Dinning Room and made a list of the Foods she wanted served and I did the same with the Bride, then we combined the two. The only thing that they could agree on was they both wanted the Reception outside under the Big Tent and Dancing in the Lobby after that. After they agreed on all of the changes in Menu, Flowers, and the Places for the Reception and the Lobby for Dancing, it was time to serve the Supper Crowd. The next morning after Breakfast, the Mother asked about the RV Park and how many RV's could be parked there. Dad had told us that they had thirty ready by the beginning of August, so I told her that I would have to get back to her on that. I went down to the RV Park and talked to Danny to see how many spaces were done and how many they would have ready by the time of the Wedding. We needed 75 lots ready for the Wedding and Danny didn't see a problem with that, because they were already working on the last 25 that we would need. Once Dad and I sat down and figured out how much to charge for the RV Lots and I cleared it with the Mother, I printed up all of the information and prices that they need to take with them. When they left, they gave me the total amount that we had asked for. Bob had ordered all of the Flowers and the other Decorations that was needed and I ordered all of the Food from Joe. We hired more people to help serve the extra Guests. The Wedding Guests started coming in two days before the Wedding, so we had extra Guests for Supper, and I used the Tent to seat everyone. We had cleaned our Apartment out and Decorated it for the Bride's Party the day that they arrived and then the next evening for the Groom's Party. After the Bride's Party the Apartment had to be cleaned, but it wasn't too bad, but after the Groom's Party everything had to be cleaned. The seats, the covers on the Chairs, and the floor had to be scrobed, but the Groom came and helped us clean up after his friends. The day before the Wedding we took out the Twin Beds and set up the King Size Bed for the Honeymooners, because they were to stay with us for two days after the Wedding. I started the Cakes three days before the Wedding and by the day of the Wedding the Cakes were ready, with White Icing and the gold, pink, blue, green, and yellow Decoration. Before we took it out to the tables, I took pictures. By the time the Wedding was over and the Reception begain, the Food was ready to serve. Bob and his crew moved into the house to Decorate the whole main floor. Miriam was here helping with the Children and any other place that was needed, so I would only see them in passing and would wave. After the Reception, the Guests moved into house for Dancing. When the Supper Crowd came in, we seated them under the Tent, were we had rearranged the tables. After the Crowd ate, they stayed and walked around all of the Wedding Decorations. The Tent had screens on the sides so that the Guests wouldn't have insects bothing them. We had people going in so many different directions, I was almost afraid to move. After all of the dishes and silverware, pots, pans, and the Kitchen was cleaned up and put away, we sat down and put our feet up with nice tall cold glasses of Wedding Punch and relaxed for thirty minutes. Dad and two Waiters dressed in white coats, used the Golf Carts to ferry everyone to and from the Wedding Party. We all started cleaning the Dinning Room when most of the Guests had left. The Groom had asked us to bring their food up to them, because their Family and Friends were going to stay with us for a week after the Wedding. We kept the new people to help ferry the RV Guests to Breakfast and Supper and back or taking Supper down to them, help in the Kitchen, and wait on tables. On Tuesday when the Bride and Groom left, they were given a big send off. School started on Thursday after the Wedding on Sunday. I had some of our people helping us put Linda's thing back in her Apartment and take down King Size Bed and put it back in storage. Bonnie and Jill had taken pictures of everything about the Wedding and when School started, they took them to School and was showing them to anyone who would look at them. I thank that by the end of the day, every Teacher had seen or wanted to see the pictures, and that made the girls very happy. Dad had ordered new Signs for everyone with the new additions of Restaurant and Weddings. The Wedding Guests started pulling out after Breakfast on Friday and it took until after the Supper Crowd started coming in before most of them were gone. The ones that stayed, were going to stay until Sunday. The Family were coming on Sunday and staying until Thursday. They wanted to hear all about School, the Wedding, and look at the Pictures. Linda's Mom and Dad, Fred and Ontonette, were going to retire in the Spring of next year. They wanted to pick out the spot were they would put their New RV and talk to Danny about getting the site sat up. On Satuary, Dad called a meeting to tell us about the RV Park and I was to tell about the house. Dad started the meeting by telling us that the Office and Laundry - Bath house were done, and next week they were going to start on the 10 Campers sites and the 20 Tent sites and another Laundry - Bath house and the cost, so far was 250 Thousand. I told them that after all of the expenses had been substracted, we came out to the good by 2 Thousand Dollars for the Wedding, the Restaurant and Rooms was up by 8 Thousand Dollars, and the RV Park had made 4 Thousand Dollars after expenses. With the 10 Thousand added to the 25 Thousand, we still had 415 Thousand Dollars to make back. When the Family got in, it was raining, the Guests were very grumpy. We were having a hard time with this group, the Food wasn't to their liking, the rooms were to small, and the complained that the staff was being very rude. Linda came in and had me take over the Front Desk, because of all the complains. When this group of Guests left, we were all very glad to see them go!! This was the first time that we had such a hard time pleasing our Guests. What we did was every time we got a complaint about a Staff, we would call them in and explain why we were changing them out with someone else. I didn't want our Staff to think that they had done something wrong, because I knew they hadn't. After that, when we got a complaint, we would change that Staff Person with another until that Guest left. We didn't get to enjoy the Family visit, because of all the trouble that we had with this group of Guest. About a Month later we received letters from 3 Travel Agency telling us that our unhappy Guests had been employees checking us out and they wanted to add us to their list of Places To Stay! I called a meeting of all Staff and read them the Letters! The Staff were stuned, but also overjoyed, because now more people would know about us. This good news put everyone in a very good mood and a add spring in their step. This news made Dad so happy that he went into the Office and called the whole Family and told them the good news. So we decided to have a party for the Staff, to show our appreciation. The weekend coming up would be a slow one, so we decided to have the party then. After Breakfast for the few Guests we had, we closed the doors to the Dinning Room and placed a table by the Check In Desk for the Coffee and Tea. Mom and I started decorating the Dinning Room, setting out the Cakes, Food, and Drinks for the Staff party. While they partied, we got ready for the Supper Crowd. For three hours they Danced and Partied, then it was time for the ones on duty to go back to work and the ones that had came in for the party to leave. November was coming up and we had a lot of Guests coming in for the house and the RV Park. A good number of them were repete Visitors. For the Thanksgiving Week, we had so many calls wanting reservations to stay with us, that we had to turn some of them away. The Family was also coming and they were going to park their RVs in my Driveway. Linda had moved all of her things out of her Apartment and Bonnie, Donald, and I had moved all of our things out as well and we moved in with Mom and Dad. Their wasn't a room at the house that wasn't rented out!! The RV Park, with all its 250 lots, were full. We needed two more Stoves to go with the two Stoves we already had, so Dad went into town and got us two new Electric Stoves and three Rotissary. The new Electric Stoves could bake 5 three layer Cakes, or 9 Pies, or 6 Sheets of Cookies at a time. Each Rotissary held 5 Turkeys, or 10 Chickens, or 10 Cornish Hens at a time. We moved my Stove into the house basement with Linda's Stove along with the two new one, so that we could do the Baking there. That part of the basement had been set up for us to use as part of the Kitchen, if need, by Danny when he built the basement. The Family were going to help out in the Kitchen and were they were needed. Thanksgiving week I had Donalds Birthday's Cake to bake plus all of the Breads, Cakes, Cookies, and Pies. When the Guests started checking in and the Family who had rented my apartment were let in, the door to the house basement was locked so they couldn't get in. Four of us were in there baking for 8 to 10 hours shifts. We started cooking at 6:00 in the morning and by the time our shift was over, Linda and I just moved to another job until the Kitchens were cleaned up for the last time that day. As the Stoves baking the Bread, Pies, and Cookies empty out and more put back in, we would send them up in the dummy waiter and they would send the empty Pans back. The Cakes would go up after we put the Frosting on. Every day we would change jobs, the first day I made Bread, Linda made Cakes, Aunt Ontonette made Cookies, and 1 of the Staff made Pies, then we just moved to another Stove and started baking after that. One day when Joe was making delivers of Flour, Granulated and Powdered Sugar, Eggs, Milk, Butter, Cinnamon, Pumpkin, Sweet Potatoes, Nutmeg, and Cloves, he told me that he was going to retire the next year and was trying to find a buyer for his business. He had been talking to one of the Cousins, Tom and his Wife Bobbie Joe. He thought that Tom was going to buy his business. Tom and Bobbie Joe had never been happy with their jobs so I wasn't surprised. Both of them had always enjoyed that kind of business were they could be outside and alone and also be around animals and people, so Joe's business would be great for them. They had told Joe that they would let him know something when they came in the week of Chirstmas. On Thanksgiving Day we took an hour out to have Donald's Second Birthday Party and then we went back baking and cooking. By the end of the day we had served 75 Turkeys, 30 Chickens, 20 Cornish Hens, 30 Cakes, 75 Dozen Cookes, 30 Pies, plus all of the fixings to go with the Turkey Dinner. With the help of the new Stoves, we were able to cook more in less time. The day after Thanksgiving the Family had their Thanksgiving Dinner together with Turkey, Chicken, Cornish Hens, and all of the fixings to go with it. We had so much fun, talking, and just being together, that it didn't matter that we were a day late. After our Dinner, it was time to go back to work. We all worked very late that week, but we all found time to be with Bonnie and Donald. When the business started going I had been worried that Bonnie and Donald would get left out, but I found out that even when it was so busy Papa, Nannie, Linda, and I always found ways to be with them. We were able to get Donald potty trained very quickly when he was about 18 months old. On one of the few days that were slow, I was playing with Bonnie and Donald and noticed that Donald appeared to be reading, so I payed more attention to what he was saying. He was only two years old and he was reading. I called Miriam and asked her what I should do, she told me to get every book with small sentences I could get my hands on. I called Mom and had her come down so I could shown her, when she saw Donald reading, she couldn't believe what she was seeing and hearing. She wanted to know what we were to do and I told her what Miriam had said to do, she left and went to the store and bought all the books that she could find like we needed. Donald would read to Bonnie, which they both loved that, and within two weeks he had read every book we had. Mom and I went to the Libruary and checked out about 30 books for Donald. The week of Christmas was going to be just like Thanksgiving, so before the Guests came we moved out of both apartments and fixed them for the Guests. The RV Park was cleaned up and ready for Guests and the Golf Carts were charged up and ready to go. The Stoves were all checked out to make sure they were ready to do a lot of cooking and baking. We had also hired more people to help in both Kitchens and around the house and RV Park, because it wasn't long until New Years Eve. We didn't get as tired this time and had more time to spend with the Guests, Bonnie, Donald and the Family. I don't mind hard work, it makes me feel very good knowing that I have help make everyone feel comfortable so they can relax before they go back to their lives. It also make me feel good when we have repete visitors which we had this Christmas and we hope that we will have a lot of repeters here. Dad came in to the Office with Cups of Coffee for us, because we had a lot of work to catch up on. I don't like getting behind on the books but with us being so busy for the last month and half, I did, but now we are going to work to get everything done so we could see how we did. Dad worked on the books for the RV Park and I worked on the house Books. It took us all day that day and better part of the next, Mom would come in to bring more Coffee and Snacks or Food and when the Children came in we would stop to talk to them and see and hear all that they had done that day. When we were done, we found that the RV Park had brought in a whoping 15 Thousand after expences and the house had brought in 50 Thousand. When the RV Park was done it had costed 350 Thousand, substrict the 19 Thousand Dollars, and which left us with 331 Thousand Dollars. For the house the balance was 415 substrict 50 Thousand Dollars, with left us with 365 Thousand Dollars. A lot of the new Staff we had hired, half had been handicaps, which they did us proud, and the other half had been the young people from our little community. We had a very good year and I hope that this coming year would be just as good. When we had our meeting so we could decuss the coming Month of January, we found that the house was booked up until the middle of February and the RV Park had 50 to 75 lots rented for the Month of January. Also we found out that Danny was to start on Fred and Ontonette's place, if the weather holds, and fixing the road for them to get in and out of without using the main entrance. We had Snow in December but not a lot, so it was likely that it would be having good weather for working on their place. About two weeks into January it started Snowing and didn't stop before we had about 2 and a half feet. We had Guests trying to leave and trying to come in, so Dad called the Car Rental and got them to come and get the Cars and he took the Guests to the airport and picked up the new Guests. The Guests that were to stay in the RV Park had come in early to avoid the bad roads. The bad weather didn't stop most of the Supper Crowd. They would just get the roads cleared of Snow were everyone could come and go easily when it started Snowing again. We only got a foot of Snow this time but it added to what we already had. The Guests were using the Elevator a lot now just so they could get a good view of the Snow covered Farm. During this time we would add Hot Chocolate to the Coffee and Tea Table. Also I like Stews during the Snow Season so the menu had them as Cup Stews with Bread Dunkers. Bonnie came in one day and asked me why there was a Lady in the Lobby crying and throwing things around. I went out the Lobby and saw the Lady there surounded by the Staff and they were doing a great job trying to help her. Most of our Guests were outside and the ones in the Dinning Room didn't know what was going on because the Staff had closed the doors. I got one of the Staff to tell me what had happened and was told that the husband was to have joined her there but had called her and dumped her instead, for a younger woman and now the Lady had gotten hold of some Liquor and was drunk. I got the Lady out of the Lobby and back in her room, where we sat and talked for a long time. I told her about Wayne and she told me about her husband, to hear her talk it sounded like he could walk on water and couldn't do no wrong, and it must have been something she had done or not done that had caused this to happen. I gave her something to think about and that was maybe it was something he had no control, over like Wayne and his drinking, she thought I was nuts but I could see that she was thinking. When she came down later that evening, Sue thanked everyone for trying to help and apologized for causing a scene. The Family, Bonnie, and Staff went out of their way to try and make her stay as enjoyable as possible, there was no way that we could make up for what her husband had done, but we tried and in some small way I think we did. When she left she had a small sad smile and she again thanked us and apologized. When we had our Staff meeting, the Family praised the Staff for their quick thinking and the handling of the incident. So far we have not run into a problem that we couldn't handle ourselfs and hoped that we never had use the Police Button, that was at the Front Desk, if needed. February turned into March and the March Winds and that means the Generator was used a lot. We had Battery Lights in the Guest Rooms and the Bathrooms, so the Guests didn't mind. CHAPTER 6 We got the men to set up Linda's Stove outside so we could use it. After the men had left, Linda and I started Supper for about 75 people. We peeled the Potatoes for the Potatoe Salad, Southern Style, and the Sweet Potatoes for frying and baking. We were also having Corn on the Cob, and they had to be shuct, the Green Beans had to be strung and broken. Fresh Pinto Beans were looked and washed, and cooked with bits of Ham. We decided to make 3 big pots of Spaghetti. Between the RV Stove, my Stove, and Lindas, we also cooked 5 Cakes, Pumpkin, Coconut, Sweet Potato, Chocolate, and a Fresh Strawberry Cake, and 5 Pies, Chocolate, Pumpkin, Sweet Potato, Fresh Strawberry Pie, and a Banana Cream. I mixed up a big batch of Dressing for the Fresh Toss Salad, with Lettuce, Onions, Carrots, Tomatoes, Fresh Charred Corn, Peaches, Grapes, Apples, Pears, and Cheese. We also fixed 5 big pans of Corn Bread, Coffee, Tea, and a Pitcher of Fruit Juice. By the time Mom and Dad got home, we had supper well under way and when the rest of the Family got there, they came and got the Pies and Cakes that need to be baked. We were all happy to be together again!!! Once we all had our plates full of food, we found places to sit. We got caught up on what everybody had been doing, and laughting, and had a very good time. It was decided that they would go and look at what had been done to the house, in the morning. We liked spending time together, even when the noise level was very loud. This year everyone was going to help fix the Thanksgiving Dinner, so when each Family lefted to go to their RV, they took the Ingredients for the Food they were going to fix. Linda's Mom and Dad took Donald's Birthday Cake with them because they wanted to decorate it!! The next morning, after I set the Bread to rising, I took the Family up and showed them what the crew had gotten done, and told them what was yet to be done. I showed them the pictures that we had taken so they knew how far the house had come. There was a Very Big Sign over the Elevator saying, Do Not Open!! Once everyone was happy with what had been done we went back down and started working on the Thanksgiving Dinner. Bonnie took everyone out to see Will Pig and told them everything that we had been doing for him and how she had helped with the feeding of bothe Will Pig and Milky. She was very proud of all the thing that she had learned to do for them. Will Pig and Milky had there own picture book, so Bonnie show everyone that as well. When the Food was done, we all set down to eat, and enjoy ourselfs. After we ate, Linda's Mom and Dad brough out the Birthday Cake with One Candle on it and we all took pictures of Donald and his Cake! He claped his hands and laughted, he put his face into the Cake and took a very big bite. I let him feed himself the Cake, then it was off to the bathroom to take a bath, because you could not see him for the Cake. Bonnie took pictures of him eating his Cake, so we would have pictures to go into his book. They was going to be there all week, so I put them to work when the work crew came back on Monday. Danny gave them jobs that would free his men to do other thing and to keep them out of the way. The Driveway and Parking Lot was layed out and Gravel Dust was brough in and poured out, then packed down. Then the Gravel was brough in and poured out and packed into the Gravel Dust. Once that was done, the RVs had to be moved so the other Driveway could be fix too! Mom and I went to the store and bought some new Decorations and then the storage building and got all of the Christmas Decorations there. With all of the people that was helping, Danny sometimes appeared to be in two places at once. With the help of the Family, the crew got caught up and it appeared that they would have the house done around Christmas, unless we had a big storm. Dad had found time to go and get the Signs for the Family to put on there RVs to advertise the Bed and Breakfast and RV Park. The Family would start pulling out Friday evening, after Supper and would be back the week before Christmas. The crew had enjoyed having my Family helping them, so they made a point of telling me about the funny thing that they had done. My Family were workers and knew how to follow directions. The men worked hard for the next two weeks, until one day about noon when it started Snowing. The crew had just gotten the new Roof on and was finishing up the last bits. They worked until the roads started to get bad so they called it a day and would be back the next if the roads were not to bad. But as you can gress the road were bad because we were getting a lot of Snow. It seamed to me like it was trying to make up for the years that we didn't get much. It was Donald's first Snow so we decided to sit in the Windows to eat and watch it Snow. Donald watched the Snow with wonder and delight on his face. I promised them that I would take them out in it the next day and show them how to make Snow Angels and Snow Balls. After we ate, we all took a bath, because I was afraid that the power would go off. The Generator was to have been delivered that week, but because of the Snow it couldn't be delivered. The store had called and said that as soon as the roads were passable they would deliver it. The calls from the Family started coming while I was giving the Children their baths, telling us were they were and wanting to know how bad it was here. Joe called to check on us and to see if we had enough K1, just in case the power went out. I needed some more so he and Dan, who worked for Joe, came on two Snow Mobles, with the thing I needed and he left one of them with me so that we could get to the Store. Earlyer that morning they had taken Miriam a Snow Moble and she want him to tell me that they were all right and would be there for Christmas Dinner. I wasn't too worried about the Family, because they knew how to drive in bad weather, it was just that I was worried about the other people on the road with them. It them 3 hours to do what would have been a 1 hour drive, so you can see how bad it was. When they called the last time Linda and I starting cooking and making lots of Coffee because the travelors would be very tired, thursty, and hungry. We slept in shifts so that the Coffee and Food would be hot and fresh!!! When all of the Family got in, we all were very glad and very, very happy to see each other, because some of them were coming in from up North and the Snow was worse there. After everyone had eaten they decided to go to bed, because they were very tired. During the night the Storm got worse and took out the power. When I got up the next morning, I got out the K1 heaters and got them going so that it would be warm for the Children. I also got out the Camping Stove and cooked Breakfast for us. Bonnie and Donald loved it, they went out and played in the Snow on the Patio because the Snow was to deep out in the yard. While they played I dug a path to Mom and Dad's RV, so they could come in the Apartment. After we got warm, Bonnie and Donald stayed with Mom, while we dug out everybody else. While Dad and I were shoveling, I asked Dad about putting in steps to the tunnel so that people could get to the house with out being in the bad weather to long. It was decided that it would be to dangerous, because we could not come up with a way to keep the steps from getting slippery without putting a small building over it. It had Snowed the whole time we were Shoveling, so it was decided that the men would keep the paths open and clean. The forcast was for it to Snow for at least another day before ending on Christmas Eve. When Dad and Fred, Linda's Dad, decided to go to Joes, I gave them the list of thing we would need for Christmas Dinner. I had most of the thing we needed, but not the fresh thing like more Milk, Chocolate, Sugar Substitute, and All Purpose and Self - Rising Flour. Whe Dad and Fred got back, he told us that he had invited Joe and his Family to come to Dinner with us, and Joe had excepted. Mom, the rest of the Family, and I started baking the Cakes, Christmas Cookies and Pies. When they were done, we took them to the Apartment and left them on the shelves out of the way of hungery tummies, that is when we found that the power had came back on. It wasn't just Desserts that we brough back, but the New Christmas Decorations that the Family had gotten on there travels. We had a long Coffee break, because we had been baking all day!! After everyone left, it was bath and bed time, and let me tell you we were ready for bed!!! After we had Breakfast, I started cooking the 50 Pounds of Potatoes that I would need to make the Potato Salad, the rest of the Family were going to cook the other Vegetables. While we were cooking, the men and boys went out in the woods and found us a Beautiful Christmas Tree. When the Family was through cooking for the day, we came together up in the Sitting Room to sing songs, drink Egg Nog, and Decorate the Tree. After all of the Children went to bed and were asleep, the Adults brough in Santa Claus. I always placed a present at the foot of the Beds of Bonnie and Donald. The next morning Bonnie and Donald woke me up so they could open their presents. With the presents out of the way, we ate Breakfast and while we waited for the Family to come over, I baked the Hams and the big pans of Bread Pudding that I had mixed together the night before. Joe and his Family came in with there Dishes of Food and presents for the Children, which they put under the Tree. When Miriam and Jill came in with there Dishes of Food, we were hard at work finishing the Dinner. We had set up four tables and put tableclothes on them, along with plates and silverware. When the Food was done, we took all of the Food upstairs and put it on the tables in the Dinning Room. We had also set up 14 other tables and put tableclothes on them for us to eat at, in the Lobby. The Family and Friends stood in a circle around the room holding hands while Dad lead us in Prayer. This was the biggest room in the house and the room were groaming under the weight. The Food line began in the Dinning Room, going into the Lobby and around the Table. When everyone's plate was full we sat down to eat, talk, and laugh. Before we went to the Dessert Tables, we all gathered around the Christmas Tree to Sing Songs, then the Older Children passed out the presents. I was busy taking pictures when I found that I wasn't the only one, because Bonnie had gotten a New Camera for Christmas. When all of the presents had be open and the trash separate into piles of paper, cardboard, ribbon, and plastics. The paper was to be shredded and put in the compost pile and the rest was to go to the recycleing center. We all went in to the Dessert Tables and filled plates for another round of Family fun. After I filled my plate, I went to go back to my place at the table, I stoped in the doorway and just looked at my Family and Friends. I was alway amased that I was so lucky to have my two Beautiful Children, Family and Friends like these. While we were enjoying our Desserts it started Snowing heavier than before! Jill and Miriam would stay with us in the Apartment and Joe's Family would be staying with the Family in there RVs. Now if you haven't figured it out yet, one of our Dinners last all day and it becomes Super as well. By the time we all were ready for bed, we had 6 inches of new Snow on top of the 2 feet that was already there. The phone woke us up the next morning. Danny was calling to check on us and to wish us a Merry Christmas, also he wanted to tell me that him and a small crew were coming over to do some work. He had gone and picked up the Generator and the people who was going to install it, plus he was bring some of his men too. His Family had a Crawler to use to take hay out to their Cows, so it was a good size. When they got there, they unloaded the Generator with a big Forklift. What I didn't know, was that the Inspector was with them, because he needed to inspect the house so that we could open for business. While the Inspector was checking the house, I started getting phone calls wanting to book room for the New Years and one Honeymoon Couple. When Linda came in the Office, I asked her if we could use her Apartment for the Honeymooners, she was happy with that but we would have to buy a new bed for them. Danny called me to come and look at the Elevator and the other thing that they had gotten done. When he had pull the plastic off the Elevator, we got in and it went up, I turned around and saw that it had a Window in it so we could look out over the Flower Gardens and the Fields. It was Beautiful with the Snow and the clear skys. With the Sun Shineing down on the Snow, it made the Snow look like diamonds. I took pictures of the Scenery!!! I also took the pictures of the Elevator, and Linda's Apartment. Before the Inspector lefted, he gave me the Certificate, which I hung behind the Check In Desk. Danny was to come back the next day to get Linda and take her into town to get the Furnature and other thing that we would need to set up each room and to get the Sparkling Grape Juice and the Champagne for the New Years Eve Party. Some of the Furnature was out of the Attic and needed to be refinished or recovered and some of it was new. The Honeymooners were flying in on Thursday and the rest of the Guests were coming in on Friday! We all had a lot to do to get all of the rooms ready, but with the Family there it wouldn't take us long. The next day, the Family started work hanging the Curtains, and we got most of the thing in the Honeymoon Swuit. When Linda and Danny got back with the Furnature, the Family helped to unload it and place it were it went or put it together in the room it went. We walked into each room to check to make sure, it was ready for the Guests. Dad was to leave early Thursday Morning to pick up the Honeymooners at the Airport. He had been gone about three hours when he call to let us know that he had picked up the Newlywebs and their three small Dogs. I called Joe and got him to bring me a big Dog Cage with Dog Blankets to be put in their room. We also put Fresh Vegetables and Sandwiches in their room for them to munch on. When they arrived and checked in, they let us take their picture, because they were our first Guests. I showed them to their room, and showed them the Dog Cage and told them about the Sandwiches. I also told them that Breakfast was from 6:00 to 10:00 in the Morning and invited them to come and eat Super with us and left. We only saw the Newlywebs when they came down that day, to take the Dogs outside to walk in the Snow. When they came down that evening to eat with us they were very quite and it wasn't long until we had them laughting over the thing that we did. Kate told me later that they were not from a big Family and not one that had as much fun together as we did. By the end of the evening we were all on first names bases with Kate and Don. The next morning after I feed Bonnie and Donald, and Bonnie had feed Will Pig, we went up to get the Eggs and French Toast Mix ready for Kate and Don's Breakfast. Joe came with the Snow Plow to do the Driveway and Parking Lot so they would be clear for the Guests. When the other Guests arrived Linda checked them in and Dad took their thing up to their rooms. Linda told them that we would fix them Super if they wanted but it would be extra. Will and Paula Crest came in and ordered their Breakfast of Bacon, Eggs, French Toasts, and Strawberries with Coffee. Lars and Pam Oakley wanted Pancakes with Blueberries and Hot Tea. Leo and Ann Jessup wanted Eggs and Toast with Mixed Berries and Cream and Coffee. Louis, Adrienne, Scott, and Dolly Ledbetter wanted Pancakes with Blueberries, Eggs, French Toast, Bacon, Sausage, and Mixed Berries with Cream, Coffee, Orange Juice, and Milk. We had set the room beside of the Parents with Twin Beds for Scott and Dolly. After the Guests had gone to their rooms and the Tables cleared, the Family sat down to eat their Breakfast. Dad had set the Computer up at the Front Desk, so when someone called wanting to book rooms, we could put them down for the date, room number, and show how many days they wanted to stay. I also had him set one up in the Kitchen the same way so that we didn't have to leave the Kitchen unless a Guests was arriving. When Linda came in, she told us that all of the rooms were booked up until the third week of January. Dad and I had been working on the Office Computer, in the evenings to get all of the building expences on the books, advertising expenses, plus all of the Furnature, and Kitchen things. Dad and Mom had set aside 400 Thousand Dollars aside for the building expences and we had gone over by 50 Thousand Dollars, which Linda and I had covered. We still had to paint the outside of the house, and the Pouch had to be given the last coat of paint, which would have to wait until Spring. The Tunnel, Dummy Waiter, and Elevator were the things that had put us over budget. When we had it all figured out, we call a meeting of the Family and told them how much everything costed. It was decided that the money that we made from the Bed and Breakfast was to go in a account for us to pay the running expenses, because we didn't own the Bank any money. After the meeting was over we made fresh Pots of Coffee and Tea for the Guests and open the doors so they could come in and get what they wanted. Scott, Dolly, and Bonnie asked for Hot Chocolate, because they had been outside playing in the Snow. Some of the Guests want to rent Snow Mobles, so they could go looking around, so I called Joe and he brough them up for the Guests. Joe came in and asked me what we were having for Super and I told him Beef Stew. He made some phone calls and when he hung up he told me that I was going to have 50 paying customers. Before they left I asked them how many were going to eat Super with us and that I would be serving Super at 6:00, eight had said that they would be eating Stew with us. Before the meeting I had started three big pot of Beef Stew and set the Yeast Bread to rise. I had to add 4 more big pots of Beef Stew, three big pots of Potatoes, Carrots, Peas, and Beans. I had made extra Yeast Bread so I could use the left overs for Bread Pudding in the Morning for Breakfast. I decided to set several more pans of Yeast Bread to rise. Linda and I decided to call Joe everyday and give him the menu for the Super that day. I had just gotten the Beef Stew and Bread done when the Guests and Customers came in. The Family helped take the food out to the Customers and kept the Coffee and Tea pots filled along with the Ice. We the Guests left to get ready for the New Years Party. Linda was incharge of the Party, so she started bring out the Big Screen TV to watch the Ball Drop in New York. Miriam and Jill came in with thing for the Party, and CD's of Music for Dancing. When the Customers paid for their Food and their admission to the Party. It was my job to provide the Food, Drinks, and Decorations for the Table. I had a lot of help getting it all done. By the time our Guests arrived, everything was ready. All that we had to do was get dressed for the Party. Linda and Miriam had the Music going when we arrived. Donald was the first one on the Dance Floor. He got every one Dancing and having fun. The Guests were having so much fun, talking, laughting, and Dancing that they didn't realise that it was almost midnight until we started handing out the Champagne and Sparkling Grape Juice. When the Ball droped, we made a toast to the New Year wishing everyone a Happy New Year and sang New Years Songs. Donald made it through the New Year Juice Drink and some of the Singing before he fell asleep. I took Donald, Bonnie, and Jill down to bed, but the rest of the Family and Guests stayed until much later to clean up. I had to get up early and feed Will Pig, Milky, and start Breakfast for our Guests. Kate and Don were leaving that Morning and wanted Breakfast, before Dad took them back to the airport. We had new Guests coming in after the other Guests left the next day and Mom and Dad were also leaving then. Everyone told us that they had a really good time with us and would be back. After that I would take Joe that week's, Menu so people could call for reservations. The rest of the Family helped us get Linda moved into her Apartment and then left late that night or early the next day. For the next two weeks, Linda and I were so busy that by the end of each day, we fell into our beds and were asleep the minute our heads hit the pillow. The third week we didn't have Guests staying we us, but we had 25 to 75 people a night, eating Super with us. But the fourth week we only had one couple staying with us and the Supper Crowd grow to 30 to 80 people a night. There was only one week in the month of February that we had 4 couples staying with us and that was Valentine week and the Supper Crowd grew to over 100 in the evenings. We were making more money on the Supper Crowd than on the Guest Rooms, so we added more food to the menu. March was a little better, we had sixteen couples and 2 singles. It started getting better in the month of April, when we had all the rooms full for two weeks and three rooms the other two weeks. Danny and a crew of men came to paint the house and Pouches. He told me that he would start on the RV Park after the July 4 Holidays. I had to split the Supper Crowd into two sittings, even then we had to set Tables up in the Setting Room and Lobby. By May all of the Rooms were full and stayed full, and the Supper Crowd was so big, that we set Tables on the Porch and hire Waiters to help serve them. By the time Mom and Dad came home after their retirement, we were so busy that all we had time for was a bear hug, and then it was back to cooking. They went out to talk to the diners and see their friends. The next day Mom and Dad took over and gave Linda and I a day off, the first we had sence the day we open. Bonnie, Donald, and I spent the day working in the Garden and playing, we had so much fun. I tried to get Mom and Dad to let us help them, because there were going to be more people there that night, because of the Birthday Party. After Bonnie and Donald went to bed that night I went up to the Office to work on the Books. The Cashier brought in the first recites and money. By the end of the evening, we had tripled our recites. I went into the Kitchen and sat down with a Cup of Coffee and told them what the take had been for that evening. Mom, Linda, and I divided the work in the Kitchen, so we would be more efficient. Dad was to answer the phone, pick up Guests, and help clean the Guest Rooms, or helping any place that was needed. By the end of the week, we decided to ask Brenda, one of the Waitress, if she wanted to come in during the day and help clean the Rooms. She did, so the next morning she came in and helped out around the house, cleaning and helping out anywhere she was needed. I made the Yeast Bread and set it to rise, and made the Cinnamon Rolls, Mom made the Cakes, and Linda made the Pies, and we all helped with the fixings for Breakfast. After Breakfast was over, we all took a break before we finished Supper and tonight it was Spaghetti, Toss Salad, Yeast Rolls, and Roasted Chicken, Potato Salad, Cole Slaw, Pinto Beans, and Corn Bread. On Thursday Dad left to go with Joe to get all kinds of Fresh Sea Food for Saturday's Supper. It was Dad who did the cooking of the Fresh Sea Food and we did all of the Fixings that went with the Sea Food. A week before the Holidays, all of the Family came in. For the Holidays, Dad went and got 5 big Grills so we could cook outside. We were going to have a Pig Pickin with all the Fixings, which we sold tickets for and the winner would win a Big Weber Grill. The 4 of July it would be Steak, Hamburger, Hot Dogs, and Barbecue Chicken with all of the Fixings.
